Job Summary:

Reporting to the President of the business unit the HR Director is the primary point of contact between business / function leadership and HR, and is accountable for architecting organizational capability. The Director serves as a consultant, provides expert advice and translates business needs into HR requirements to drive and implement value adding HR initiatives so as to build capability and increase organisational effectiveness and business performance.

The HR Director is focused on strategic business activities and the monitoring and execution of operational HR services. He/she is accountable for all HR issues in the business / function and they will influence the agenda, while ensuring that Group policy, processes and procedures are understood and applied.

As a strategic partner, the HR Director works with the business to help implement HR policies and programmes. The HR Director will apply awareness of the business unit's operational goals and objectives when implementing HR programmes and addressing escalated HR issues.

The HR Director will be a seasoned professional who engenders the highest levels of confidence, and who has the ability to function proactively in a team environment with minimal supervision. On a personal level, this leader will be described as a hands-on leader, a collaborative executive with well-developed interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

l Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all stakeholders and works closely with them to implement HR solutions to meet the current and future business needs. Understands the business unit's operating environment and applies awareness of the organisation's operational goals and objectives when implementing HR programmes and addressing escalated HR issues.

l Assesses the current state of the business unit and proactively identify issues in order to work with the business leaders to develop programmes and solutions.

l Facilitates future state performance. Uses available toolkits and methodologies to guide the business unit through change and implementation.

l Architects and Supports culture change while taking direction from the business leadership.

l Implements process improvements to continuously create efficiencies in cost and capabilities.

l Coaches and advises line managers on organisational effectiveness and general HR issues, including giving employee relations guidance prior to escalating cases to appropriate parties.

l Keeps up to date on HR best practice benchmarks in the marketplace for the region. Identifies and shares HR best practices throughout the organisation or function.

l Identifies opportunities to support the business' talent agenda and make recommendations to develop appropriate solutions.

l Manages the talent pipeline in conjunction with the business / function leadership. Designs interventions to attract, develop and retain high performing employees.

l Manages the recruitment process for key roles. Ensures that new hires / appointees are fully supported in the on-boarding process. Manages the succession planning process.

l Works with the business leaders and HR leadership team to implement HR policies and programmes.

l Resolves HR issues/problems for business unit and liaise HR Service Centres for information as necessary. Directs employees and managers to the HR Portal and/or HR Service Centres for resolving routine issues related to payroll, workforce administration and general HR etc.

l Monitors the performance management cycle throughout the year, promotes manager and employee participation in performance management activities, and engages them to meet performance management deadlines and schedules.

l Ensures HR KPIs are monitored and metrics tracked to identify and deliver continuous business performance improvement through people and execution of plans.

l Collaborates with managers on involuntary terminations and redundancies to ensure smooth implementation.

? Leads and guides team members; identifies training needs for own team; sets and reviews KPIs; provides feedback in order to motivate team & build a performance oriented work culture.

Experience Required for the Role:

? Experienced HR professional with a minimum of 8-10 years related experience is essential.

? HR business partnering and organizational design & development experience in companies undergoing significant change.

? Masters in Business or Human Resource Management would be advantageous, with Bachelors in Business or Human Resources areas required.

? Experience as an HR Director / Business Partner in a manufacturing environment required.

? Experience leading the HR function for a similar sized business in the Pharma, Nutrition & Functional Ingredients space a plus.

Competencies Required for the Role:

? Proven capability to manage process and programs on a broad organizational scale

? A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

? Must have an aptitude for people and process design

? Proactive, excellent project management skills with a strong aptitude to manage change effectively
