GOAL AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Offline Sales Manager Retail is accountable for generating revenue and meeting/exceeding
AOP sales targets. He/she translates and locally implements the global sales strategy in order to
achieve its short and long-term sales goals in China. He/she is accountable for the development
and execution of new accounts and sales plans in order to ensure that the overall group’s sales
volume and profitability objectives are met.
The role is responsible for leading the China Offline sales team. Major responsibilities include field
sales of all China regions, national and regional key account management, distributors
management, new channels development and management (where applicable), sales capabilities
and operations.
Responsibilities / Key activities
- Is responsible for realizing China sales results vs. AOP targets
- Is responsible for leading the sales team (including field sales and account management,
distributors management, developing and managing new sales channels (where applicable),
sales capabilities and sales operation, etc.
- Executes general pricing, promotional pricing and trade margins within guidelines
- Applies centrally/APAC regionally defined Sales/Customer Strategy and Segmentation to China
markets.
- Drive the planning of AOP Offline Sales process; own and execute/achieve AOP targets
- Defines account planning, prioritization of initiatives and negotiation approach for local key
accounts, and monitors progress on account plan.
- Is accountable for negotiation and contracting with all local accounts, including trade allowances
and other contractual conditions, within the constraints of central/regional/country guidelines
and customer selection criteria.
- Provides input for shopper insights and strategy, promotion guidelines & POS display standards
and deploys trade marketing strategy towards customers. Plans and develops local promotions
and tracks promotion effectiveness.
Experience
Must have:
- At least 8-10 years’ experience in the FMCG industry.
- Senior Sales and Sales Management experience.
- Proven track record in the management of offline sales teams.
- Ability to manage a changing workload in a dynamic deadline-driven
changing environment.
- Demonstrated drive, confidence and risk taking.
- Experience in working in a complex corporate structure.
- Proven ability to anticipate needs and initiate action.
- Good English communication skills
- Can-do attitude in challenging market environment
Nice to have:
- Coffee and beverage industry experience definitely is a plus
- Knowledge or exposure to online or China’s new retail sales
