Responsibilities:


-Manage data requests for from the subsurface community in China.
-Accountable for loading of data in OpenWorks/SeisWorks,Fieldbank,Petrel and government seismic data store.
-Responsible for seismic data distribution to third parties,governmental bodies and joint ventures consistently and according to China rules and regulations.
-Search and find data for external requests (trade/released data) and for internal requests(released data/spec surveys).
-Ensure data managament team operates according to JV obligations and China government licensing situation.
-Maintain documentation and procedures for configuration and operation of data rooms.
-Have a good understanding of quality control (QC) practices and ensure the data loaded is of agreed quality. With data owners,agree and define criteria for determining quality data and report this regularly.
-Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) according to Shell standards and China regulatory requirements. Continually review existing processes,identifying waste and seeking to improve efficiency.
-Actively advocate good data management practices with the user communities and have the ability to influence a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
-Analyse new user requirements,continually define and review data standards,and promote these regionally and globally.
-Understand and keep abreast of the relevant changes in the external environment and have a good understanding of how Shell is placed in relation to our competitors.
-Understand how agreed quality subsurface data benefits the business and how it contributes to their value.

Requirements:


Holds a Degree in a relevant EP technical discipline, e.g. Geophysics, Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or other qualifications combined with extensive experience in related business domain.

Staff in this position typically has Extensive Experience (8 to 10 years) in Technical Information Technology and Information Management

Is experienced as a data management consultant, data manager and/or geoscientist with particular exposure to technical data. Has understanding of E&P data types and work practices gained through working in the subsurface-, well engineering- or production domain. Fully aware of the key technical documents that need to be published as part of the business cycle, and their relation to specific data types.

Is an expert for standards for the specific domain as published in EP16 Managing Information. Actively applies standards, develops new common operational procedures and standards and shares those with the global community.

Possesses an excellent understanding of the business applications used in the Discipline related workflows, and can give in depth support to the business staff to properly manage the data across these.

Communicates well, both orally and in writing and has the skill to influence through persuasion in a formal context.

Has skill in procedures for, and profound experience in Project Management.

Exhibits a meticulous method of working and attention to detail.
