General
GJFA Band (where appropriate): 6Job Title: Senior Accountant – GL Processing, R2R TeamDepartment: Record to ReportReports to (Function): FRA manager - GL Processing, R2R Team Job Purpose (State in one sentence the overall objective of the job)
The role is responsible for General LedgerProcessing activities within dedicated entities/divisions to ensure smoothoperation and accurate accounting treatment of all transactions in accordanceto both statutory and Novartis policies.
Major Accountabilities (Describe the main results of the job to be achieved )
Service Delivery:
Month-end closing process owner of responsiblelegal entities;
Ensure the true and fair of financial accounts andstrictly comply with Novartis Accounting Manual, Group Reporting guidelines andlocal GAAP;
Support to drive for standardization of GLprocessing and month-end closing processes cross all divisions within GreaterChina Region FSC (excluding Alcon);
Analyze the accounts related with General Ledger,prepare and document the General Ledger reconciliation report;
Accurate and in time posting of accounting entries;
Provide supports for financial and General Ledgerdata analysis as needed;
Provide support to annual statutory / internalaudit related to General Ledger;
Work closely with line-manager and otherFSC/BPA/business team members to ensure financial statement/data /reportaccuracy.
Other ad hoc jobs assigned;
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Novartis Accounting Manual(NAM), Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) and regulatory requirementsand implementation in internal guidelines;
Ensure application of agreed Novartis controlprocedures and actively support to provide information for SOX certification.

1. Timely and accurate GLaccounting booking
2. Number of daily postingweakness identified or processes improvement made
3. Stable services includingthose outsourced operations, no control issues
4. Successful support to roll-outof standard Finance Core systems and processes

Ideal Background (State the minimum and desirable education and experience level)
Education: University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance; Chartered Accountant preferred Languages: Mandarin plus fluent English (spoken and written) Experience: 3 years+ working experience in Finance, previous experience in auditing/MNC is preferred;Experience with SAP is a plus;Familiar with PRC/IFRS GAAP;Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organization; Document prepared by: Date of issue:
