POSITION OVERVIEW:

• Reports hierarchically to Indirect Sourcing Manager China
• Indirect Report to Alstom Global Commodity Manager
• Scope of commodity (could be adjustable):
  • Facility management
  • Manufacturing Equipment
  • Training
  • Travel
  • Communication
  • IS&T
  • Comsumable
  • C class
• Network:
  • Internal customer : China Project, TLS, TIS, IT, administration, etc.
  • Support China JVs Sourcing activities
  • Central Commodity Manager and Site Buyers
  • Relevant network with suppliers

                       

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To manage the commodity / supplier strategy to fulfill the requirement of Transport global supplier panel and development roadmap
• Boost sourcing from China for indirect sourcing global need.
• Supplier development: build and maintain existing supplier panel. Develop new supplier for new need.
• Strong Cost analysis ability(TCO)
• Cost tool/publish to be used for direct sourcing. (established and regular update)
• Communicate with Central CM regularly for projects follow up and new projects introduction
• Continuous improvement plan (QCD responsibility on orders placed)

 

SKILLS & EDUCATION 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Above 3 years experience of sourcing development.
• good negotiating skills, project management skills and supplier management skills
• Must have strong drive and initiative to promoting global sourcing, continuously reduce costs and implement changes
• strong problem solving skills
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a changing environment with a sense of urgency
• Good English communication skill is a must.  French speaker would be a plus.
• Have a good team work spirit and work under pressure.
