JOB SUMMARY

Translates training documents and other material from English to another language. Reviews and rewrites material in specified language or languages, following established rules pertaining to factors, such as word meanings, sentence structure, grammar, punctuation, and mechanics.

Translates English business concepts into appropriate cultural context, ensuring that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original as clearly as possible. May work with Subject Matter Experts as needed for verification of concepts translating appropriately.
? Prepares translated content into original formats including eLearning, Instructor-Led guides, jobaids, scripts, etc. Records voice-over in translated language and synchronizes the voice-over with training content as appropriate.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Read and comprehend the meaning and the context of the original writing and then translate it in another language while maintaining the integrity of the original work
? Verify translations of technical terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain consistent throughout translation revisions.
? Proofread, edit, and revise translated materials
? Verify translated concepts with SME's to ensure that translations retain the content, meaning, and feeling of the original material
? Research legal, technical, and scientific phrases to determine the correct translation.
? Consult reference materials such as dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopedias, and computerized terminology banks as needed to ensure translation accuracy.
? Identify and resolve conflicts related to the meanings of words, concepts, practices, or behaviors
? Compile information about the content and context of information to be translated, as well as details of the groups for whom translation or interpretation is being performed.
? Prioritize work to meet deadlines.
? Record audio to be incorporated into the courses.
? Develop/compile translated materials back into original format (Articulate, Captivate, etc) for publishing to the Learning Management System ( LMS)
? Comply and follow all procedures within the company confidentiality policy.
? May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
? Must be fluent in English and at least one other language.
? 3-5 year experience in language teaching and/or translating
? Must have superior writing, editing and grammar skills in the target language
? Able to work independently and meet deadlines
? Computer and word processing skills are essential
? Must understand international customs and cultures (specifically the target language to translate)
? Highly organized and detail oriented
? Proactive/Self-Started/Self-Motivated
? Project Management Skills
? Experience working remotely preferred
? Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools preferred
? Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
? Bachelor's Degree preferred.
? Expert in at least two languages (English and target language)
? Min. 3 years working in manufacturing or as a translator
? Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

Design Services (DS)
Design Services offers comprehensive product development from basic printed circuit board layout to complex product designs. We work closely with Jabil Business Units, Workcells and customers to quickly progress concepts into volume production. In addition, we incorporate vital Design for Manufacturability (DFm) and Design for Testability (DFt) guidelines that reduce production costs and increase product quality.

Our Design capabilities include electrical engineering, software engineering, PCB layout, mechanical engineering, industrial design, tooling engineering, and quality assurance.

We currently maintain product competencies in networking, servers and storage, mobile and wireless products and consumer electronics.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT)
Advanced Manufacturing Technology provides customer and sales support, systematic training, equipment and process capability studies, implementation support and technology roadmaps for advanced manufacturing, test and failure analysis processes and emerging product technologies.

Global Test Services (GTS)
Global Test Services provides test development and support for all Jabil manufacturing facilities.
