Role Summary/Purpose

GE China is looking for a highly effective Strategic Marketing Director to join our team. Based in Shanghai or Beijing, the Strategic Marketing Manager will work closely with GE Global Strategy and Analytics team, Power & Water and Oil & Gas businesses to develop thought leadership and insight into China’s upstream gas industries, support and refine growth strategies to tap into this growing industry and value chain.

Essential Responsibilities

Quickly gain in-depth understanding of GE’s multiple and multi-faceted business with market and activities in China’s natural gas value chain, which include conventional and unconventional gas; Build and maintain a data base of market knowledge that covers the entire spectrum of China’s natural gas policy and regulations, industry trend, technology adoption, value chain and key players; Lead market analyses, evaluate policy and regulatory implications, assess competitor strategies and performances, scan for external threats and opportunities Point of call for informational and analytical needs of senior management, with thought leadership and insights into strategic implication of that information Develop a network of China natural gas industry and subject matter experts that will help GE to gain insight into policy, market and technology trend Support marketing activities to expand GE’s influence and reach in this industry

Qualifications/Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5-8 years of analytical experience, preferably with a research institution, management consultancy, or with a large global corporation in the Energy sector. Prior experience in related product management, strategic marketing or engineering is highly desirable. • A Bachelors degree from leading university. Graduate degree is preferred. • Fluent in Chinese and English • Past experience in energy or natural gas industries is essential. Able to operate at both strategic and tactical level A quick learner, able to quickly grasp the key aspects of various GE business Strong business acumen, and acute analytical skills Intellectually curious Able to comprehend and distil large quantities of information, summarize and describe critical points quickly and clearly Strong interpersonal skill who can influence, engage business leaders and external stakeholders Mature and confidence A hands-on result oriented individual, capable of getting things done timely and under pressure.
