Location: Chengdu, Sichuan, China
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Technical User Support Site Lead in the Upstream International SOM organization.
Key Accountabilities:
• Delivery of high quality,proactive,customer focused local support,integrated with the global support model and teams.
• Provide primarily 2nd line line support to Rig IT Systems,escalating issues to other 3rd parties / 3rd line as required,retaining ownership for issues.
• Mapping and troubleshooting Wells Data flows from Source to Receiving Applications and Systems.
• Providing remote assistance to the Rig IT Technicians out in the field.
• Provide face to face support for the users in the drilling centres as well as interfacing with Geologists for data quality issues.
• Provide Remote support for Drilling Rig users and Vendor initiated calls.
• Provide support and assistance to Shell’s drilling automation program.
• Provide Out of Hours support.
Key activities
Onsite Role Support :
Local issue co-ordination & problem diagnosis of technical computing services:
- Covering Infra( WAN/LAN/ Server/ Clients),Apps and Data issues.
- Local site presence to assist with diagnosis for remote teams.
- Provide onsite presence to co-ordinate resolution for multiple remote / local vendors.
- Onsite assistance with verification on Data mappings and connectivity.
Hardware support :
- Management of spares in office.
- Logistic of parts to site.
- Onsite Parts replacement and rebuild.
- Reconfig of Server & Network devices.
Project Deployment responsibilities :
- Ordering of Hardware (RIAB and SCADAdrill BOMs) from Vendor.
- Hardware receipt & assembly / DOA testing.
- Provision of Location code and IP ranges for RIAB kit.
- Co-ordination of WAN scheduling and deployment.
- Co-ordination of PCAD connectivity.
- RIAB server build and testing.
- RIAB network build.
- Co-ordinate with PCD assist for F/w config.
- Configuration of Wits to OPC and OPC to PI data mapping.
- Assist the SCADAdrill deployment teams & RIAB/SCADAdrill SATs.
For Rig Moves :
- Co-ordinate with TLS Rig Scheduler / Wells business on Rig moves.
- Shutdown and startup of RIAB.
- Potentially disconnect/ pack/ Unpack/ reconnect for larger moves.
- Re-do the Configuration of Wits to OPC and OPC to PI data mapping when the MWD vendor changes on a rig.
For Rig shutdown – Return RIAB to store :
- Logistics back to store.
- ‘RIAB refresh’.
- Co-ordinate movement of PCAD connectivity to ‘Store location’.
- Potentially co-ordinate reduction of SLA is saving are available while devices are in-store.
PCAD & PCD IT Support :
The local PCAD Administrator (Focal Point) responsible to resolve issues and requests related to PCAD user (Shell/TP) admin/access. PCAD Administrators/Owners are the key interface to Central ITS support organization (PCAD Help Desk) for any PCAD/PCD related issues. Customer should contact the PCAD Administrator directly on this matter.
Requirements:
• Significant IT experience in oil and gas sector
• ITIL Certified and experienced in operation of ITIL Processes, (Incident, Problem, Change, Request)
• BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Experience in Wells Software applications such as Insite, Openwire and PI Realtime and relevant industry standards such as WITSML
• Experienced with the Drilling and Wells business with a sound understanding of the Wells Workflow and terminology
• Ability to troubleshoot data flow issues from Rig to Real Time Operations Center
• Strong network & telecoms capabilities (Routers, Switches, Vlan, Vsat, Firewall, Process Control) systems, Video streaming)
• Client and server technologies physical and virtual, Windows, VMware
• Experience with database technologies such as MS Sql Monitoring tools such as Nagios
• Experience in oil and gas sector with focus on IT and Control and Automation disciplines. Familiar with support of process control systems and the adherence to process control standards.
• Experience operating in a Global Support model as working as part of a diverse virtual team with multi vendor support.
