Role Summary/Purpose

GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.The Field Application Engineer (FAE) leader manages FAE regional team to give oversight on FAE activities and lead to provide technical support to regional team to develop a pipeline of potential opportunities incorporating Thermal products throughout Inquiry to Order processes. The FAE leader will work seamlessly with Thermal Marketing Pricing leader-Asia/China to maximize thermal products penetration and margin.

Essential Responsibilities

The FAE leader’s key function is to manage the team to provide configuration/cycle optimization, performance estimation, technical solutions that optimize GE’s offerings and develop strategy as well as support target pricing to maximize thermal business performance based on competitive assessment from eyes of customers. Also the FAE leader will work closely with regional team to influence customer specification and evaluation criteria, policy and regional market mechanisms to advantage GE. As part of the Thermal Marketing team, the FAE leader will contribute towards developing and executing Regional Marketing penetration strategies and will maintain global process within the region and share best practice among team. And the FAE leader will train and mentor FAEs to raise overall expertize and impact of them Essential Functions • Proactively promote and position GE early in the project phase to create value and influence by working closely with consultants, Design Institutes, developers, EPCs, industry OEM partners and customers. • Provide technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing and developing competitive product offerings. • Estimate GE equipment and system performance and hardware evaluation throughout the bid process. • Collect regional Voice of Customer and Voice of Market on the value of flexible generation solutions and support New Product Introduction activities. • Influence customers to understand and recognize the full economic value that Thermal product solutions provide. • Understand about energy/power market structures, pricing mechanisms, and policy that impact the customer value proposition. • Integrate region-specific customer views on life-cycle value into strategic planning: New Product Introduction and Growth Playbook). • Develop region-specific collateral to sell the value of our offerings to customers. • Gather and analyze competitor feedback in the regions to improve GE understanding of value differentiation in the eyes of our customers. • Prioritize FAE activities to maximize Thermal business performance. • Ensure region FAE team alignment throughout business operating cycle: Opportunity/Risk process, Growth Play Book, Business operation reviews. • Raise overall expertize of regional FAE team and maintain regional metrics • Represent FAE and provide regional coordination with internal stakeholders: Sales, Commercial Operations, Product Line, Global Project Operation

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (prefer Thermodynamics).• Min. 10 years’ experience in marketing or engineering and a strong technical and commercial background in the power industry.• Strong grasp of power plant economics.• Demonstrated gas turbine generator & combined cycle knowledge/ experience• Proven analytical skill and strategic mindset.• Strong communication skills.• Fluent in Chinese and English.• Experienced leader in a matrix env • Self-driven with the ability to work in a global teamEligibility Requirements• You must submit your application for employment through gecareers.com to be considered.• You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.• You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.

Desired Characteristics• Experience with energy markets • Knowledgeable of power generation industry trends and competition. • Prior experience in engineering, construction or operations of large power plants.• Experience with a Utility, IPP, Project Developers or Public Utility Commission in economic lifecycle modeling.• Strong network of relationships with key customers in the region.• Ability to assess impact of price and performance decisions on customers, market, & investors.• Experience in thermal performance simulation tools : GTPro, GateCycle, etc• MBA or advanced Engineering degree.Work Traits• Self-starter, highly motivated, innovative and creative thinker, strong leadership and customer influencing skills. • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (technical papers/books, patents, formal presentations).
