Role Summary/Purpose

Roles will typically be aligned to specific businesses or sectors. Individuals will generally either be located at, and only support, a specific site or project (including construction), or have a role that requires specific industry/business expertise or interaction with specific business customers. Includes EHS professionals involved in “designing for EHS” (NPI), individuals responsible for customer or industry engagement, and EHS professionals working at customer sites or projects.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support and Promote the LM WP EHS strategies to world class EHS performance on Global Supply Chains and Services footprint

• Work with sites to identify the firefighting risks, and develop mitigation actions plans, then follow up, same things for Hazardous Chemical Management.

• Lead BCP (Business continuity plan) process and monitor implementation.

• Project management sense to support all sites in China on risk control projects

• Update LM China Chemical Master List to follow GHS standard or equal

Process owner of Business risk management, and business EHS heat map Consolidation

Support HRO [High Risk Operation] for identification, mitigation and training.

• Work with China Compliance Manager on Permit Inventory

• Maintain the GE LM EHS management system and associated tool like Gensuite

• Lead compliance audits, join in Governance audits.

• Cascade & Establish China Chemical & Waste Management Standard according to GE, LM and Legal requirement.

• Risk assessment on Waste Treatment and mitigate the risk

• Responsible on new Chemical Introduction process and MOC process

• EHS culture assessment and improvement in China

• Monitor, and influence programs / culture in order to anticipate / prevent risk and trends of EHS events / I&I.

• Understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast business impacts

• Monitor for improvement of existing EHS programs through simplification and ensure alignment with GE programs, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements

• 5 year degree from an accredited university or college in Health & Safety, Environment, Science (or equivalent)

• Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience, with at least 2of which must be in a leadership position, with exposure to several EHS areas in a projects/ manufacturing / services / operations environment

• Initiative and a global mindset

• Excellent PC skills required

• Ability to travel 50% of the time
