Responsibilities:

• Lead design, validation and qualification of escalator machine according to Otis product development standards, particularly working on gearbox
• Research, design and evaluate escalator machine in escalator system to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
• Develop assembly and detail manufacture drawings of escalator machine, and documentation for sales, manufacture, purchasing and quality
• Improve product quality and cost
• Develop 2nd sourcing of gearbox and support sourcing to improve supplier quality
• Conduct root cause analysis of site issue, site correction and design correction.
• Provide guideline to Otis China companies or third party testing facility on all matters relating to product qualification and testing.

Qualification:

• Minimum 5 years work experience on gearbox design & application for heavy industry
• Solid hands-on experience on gearbox design including teeth modification, and bearing calculation and selection
• Familiar with gearbox forging and casting manufacture process
• Solid experience on gear design using KISSsoft
• Experience on MASTA is a strong plus
• FEA experience using ANASYS is strong plus
• Solid experience in transferring design into manufacture drawings
• Ability to handle any qualification test independently;
• Strong mechanical calculation skills are essential;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
• Team work in global and cross-functional environment
• Familiar with DFEMA and DOE;
• Self-driven, result-oriented and ability to work independently under pressure
• Business travel applicable (~20%)
• Education – Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Master preferred;
• Experience - 5 years at least
• Language - English – CET-6 and above. Must be proficient in spoken and written English & Chinese.
• Computer Skills – UG/ProE, ANASYS
