Under the direction of both RHQ Ethics & Compliance Officer (“ECO”) and Senior Investigation Manager (“SIM”), the Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting ethics and compliance training and education as well as compliance investigations at Otis China RHQ.

 

Position Specification:

1. Promote and build commitment to UTC Code of Ethics and continually foster a strong OTIS compliance culture, including an environment supportive of “speaking-up” and no tolerance for retaliation;

2. Encourage business transparency and risk controls;

3. Mitigate compliance risks and prevent harm to the organization proactively;

4. Support root cause analyses to understand why escapes occurred and support to find preventive measures.

5. Be visible, proactive and supportive to members of the organization and its leadership consistent with the UTC Code of Ethics and Otis values; and

6. Support investigations led by RHQ Compliance Investigation Team.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Education, Training and Support (20%)

1. Work closely with RHQ ECO to support the function as a resource concerning business ethics, standard of conduct, and ethical relationships with customers, suppliers, co-workers, external parties, including the government and service suppliers.

2. Work closely with other RHQ corporate functions to establish business controls and regulating system to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and OTIS/UTC policies & procedures in its transactions, operations and management – internally and externally.

3. Support root cause analyses (e.g., ACE) with business leaders and relevant company members to meaningfully assess escapes to continually improve business practices and controls.

4. Support compliance programs initiated and led by RHQ Ethics and Compliance Team.

 

Investigations (80%)

1. Support SIM to conduct daily investigation case management, including database check and preparing reports as requested.

2. Under the direction from SIM, conduct compliance investigations, including but not limited to: database search, electronic data review, document review, on-site visit and interview support.

3. Provide advices to the investigation team per your professional discipline.

 

Key Measurements:

1. Strict compliance with business ethics, policies, procedures in person, no violations;

2. Support efficient operation of RHQ Ethics and Compliance Team. 

 

Principle Working Relations:

1. Under direction from RHQ Ethics and Compliance;

2. Work closely with entities under Otis China Area;

3. Work together with various departments, including HR, Finance and Business Operation team, Operations Audit, Legal and/or with UTC.

 

Qualification:

1. Passion and strong belief in ethics and morals;

2. Strong work ethics and detail oriented;

3. Education: Bachelor Degree or above, major in Law or Accounting or relevant discipline;

4. Experience: at least 2 years of working experience in audit, compliance, finance or legal;

1. Objective, honest, fair and sound judgment, uncompromising on ethics & compliance, work independently, mature, good communication skills, good judgment, Objective and good Analytical thinking.

2. Professional and tactful in communications to promote collaboration and open work environment, yet able to be direct and straightforward in relevant circumstances;

1. Clear communication skills to enable smooth dialog at all levels, internally and externally;

2. Language: Fluent in Chinese and English both at speaking and writing.
