Purpose of Role
Project Manager, End to End solutions is managing End to End solutions (SCM, Ocean, Air) used by our global products in North Asia (NAS) and Asia Pacific (APA) , including initiatives from the key client teams. He/she is the primary contact for assigned End to End external customer enquiries and RFPs, and also for internal customers including products, branches and KAMs for assigned work areas. He/she takes the responsibility for client requirement studies, overall solution design, ensuring the solution is developed according to requirement by the IT teams and implementing that solution including the training of relevant staff. He/she may also act as the global URG/SRG member for origin based solutions to represent Business Systems in North Asia and Asia Pacific.
The main responsibility for the Project Manager, End to End Systems
1. Develop solution roadmap based on allocated product areas working with the NAS IT team and CEN IT team for delivery.
2. Develop and support a standard engagement process for customers (internal and external) for End to End system enquiries and actively promote the products available. This will include all sales support for the products managed.
3. Ensure project management and deliverables is conducted and aligned with global and NAS CPO standards and drive continuous quality improvement.
4. Ensure delivery and implementation of allocated end to end solutions in NAS and APA including, scoping and agreeing requirements, ensuring IT teams deliver the support and development and those new solutions are tested and appropriate training provided and then handed over to IT.
5. Act as the escalation point with customers for IT related enquires, external and internal support issues (except where specific to Joint Venture or local warehouse operations) as allocated by the Head of End to End Solutions.
6. Participate in URG/SRG member for North Asia and Asia Pacific for related applications.
7. Actively participate as an active team member in the overall delivery and drive for the End to End Solutions team in North Asia.
Main Tasks
1. Drive client solution projects to meet customers’ end to end process requirements and ensure that project solutions are delivered within budget and accordance with specification.
2. Ensure NAS CPO standards are followed in our daily work. e.g. using Focal Point to manage change request and project support documents are timely prepared and archived in team site.
3. Proactively improve our business process by looking at new opportunities and deliver enhancements to solutions through close cooperation with other business systems teams, the BPI group and the IT teams.
4. Ensure all solutions are supported within SLA and ensure the routine tasks are handed to the IT teams on project completion. Ensure effective management of the escalation of any issues.
5. Assist in marketing the End to End product within the organization by providing guidance and introductions to KAM, Sales and BPI.
6. Drive the product roadmap for allocated product areas through the U/SRG and regional stakeholders in alignment with the systems strategy. Manage system change requests in accordance with the CR lifecycle
7. Provide input on customer requirements regarding process improvements that can be followed up with BPI
Enablers for success – knowledge and experience
The position owner needs to have significant experience in IT products and technology as well as latest Damco application developments and systems. He/she needs to have a good understanding of our existing products and services are executed at origin and preferably also destination. Experience and good understanding of Origin or Destination operation process will add extra value to the position. ‘Winning & Can Do’ attitude is critical to the success.
Enablers for success – soft skills
Biggest success criteria in this role are strong project management skills and superior communications skills to work with relevant stakeholders at all levels through the organisation. Possess a good understanding of our current platform, systems and functions to be able to offer and promote cross product solutions.
As the role is client facing then you will have to show a good presentation and communication skill with which you will be able to convey a message in a clear and structured manner, both by written and oral communication.
