We are looking for an experienced scientist with strong baking or grain science background. You will join our enthusiastic Application Research Team in Beijing to hunt and develop new enzyme and biological solutions to transform the quality and sustainability of food and beverages.
In your daily work, you’ll be responsible for:

• Driving for planning, performing and reporting laboratory studies in identified innovation projects for new enzyme product development.
• Taking on project leader responsibilities for projects in complex nature when appointed.
• Monitoring, developing and implementing new technologies to solve technical problems with our global R&D team.
• Providing guidance and information to Research Associates and Lab Assistants to secure fast, efficient and prioritized solving of tasks.
• Working closely with Business Operation Teams to scout for new ideas in enzyme development to improve our customers’ production and quality of food and beverages for consumers.
• Ensuring good and close co-operation within the department, and with other departments in R&D and business functions.
• Striving towards excellence in personal specialty fields.
• Establishing and maintaining a network with selected universities and customers.

In this position you need to have:

• PhD or MS with 5+ years of proven record in baking, cereal chemistry, grain processing or relevant field.
• 3+ years working experience in baking or grain industries and research experience in enzyme applications is preferred.
• Experience with running or programming automation systems or using Python or R is a bonus.
• Project management or execution experience especially for business improvement related.
• Be open-minded, self-motivated and willing to work under a dynamic working environment.
• Curiosity and courage to try new ideas out.
• Strong communication and team-work skills.
• Be excellent in written and oral English.
