The Compliance Operations team (C-Ops) ensures Amazon transactions satisfy legal and safety requirements, by coordinating aspects of product transactions that are regulated (distribution, shipping, sale, and import/export).

As part of this organization, the C-Ops Automation Program provides support to the operational team in automating process flows. The initiatives we develop involve creating and improving tools (e.g. excel macros, DB connectors, SQL Packages, HTML/Java products) in order to eliminate/reduce manual inputs at an operational level, automating reports and data tracking mechanization.

As a Programmer Analyst for the C-Ops Automation Program, you will have the following responsibilities:

· Eliminate or reduce manual steps by developing worldwide automation features for the operational programs

· Identify, build, develop automation features and provide maintenance to existent tools in order to eliminate costs, improve turnaround time and overall quality

· Facilitate the exchange of ideas, tools, tips & tricks among the different operational teams

· Ensure that good ideas are consistently implemented across all nodes in order to improve efficiency and standardize process workflows.

Understand the business and identify potential areas of improvement from a technical perspective and propose changes to standard tools accordingly.

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferably in one of the following fields: Computer Science or Computer-Mediated Communication).

· 1-3 years of working experience in data analysis, scripting, SQL, VBA.

· Proficiency with RDBMS technology fundamentals, data modelling, SQL, and query optimization.

· Ability to develop pragmatic solutions and deliver flexible systems without over-engineering and choose simple, straightforward solutions over more complex ones.

· Work with program managers in defining functional requirements and contribute effectively in design review sessions with other engineers.

· Understanding of basic data structures and algorithms, knowledge on how to employ them effectively, and when more complex data structures and algorithms are suitable for the task.

· Strong analytical skills to formulate logic for new systems, devise logic procedures, prepare flowcharting, write new code, and test/debug new programs.

· Ability to solve problems from their root, stepping back to understand the broader context, and engaging software development teams when appropriate.

· Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language and its associated development environment.

· Strong knowledge of software tools supporting information engineering: Business Process Modeling (BPM), Entity Relationship modelling, Diagramming/Flowcharting tools (e.g. Visio)

· Project Management experience, preferably in software related projects
