Business Development Manager- Offshore

LR China is currently seeking to fill the position of Business Development Manager for Offshore. The Business Development Manager for Offshore will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of the growth plan for offshore business in Offshore. The Business Development Manager will help LR in positioning itself as the leading provider of these services in China and will be responsible for exploring offshore business opportunity, establish and maintain client relationship and secure offshore contract. Also the individual will be responsible for formulating and implementing business development strategies to achieve business growth target for the area who is responsible. The position requires a self-driven, market-driven, proactive, focused, team-oriented, individual who will define identify and realize opportunities to grow the offshore business in China, under the direction of the General Manager for Business Development Greater China.


Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible to promote LR offshore business and identify potential business opportunity and clients
  • Develop and maintain good relationship with current and potential domestic offshore clients, such as (CNOOC, SINOPEC, CNPC etc.) to become a trusted advisor and also to generate business.
  • Execute and drive sales strategies for assigned customers, potential customers to meet or exceed sales target assigned
  • Develop, communicate, implement, and maintain plans for performing assigned offshore business development activities (e.g. marketing material development, conference exhibits, etc.)
  • Participate in regular Business Development Team meetings to provide updates on progress, communicate upcoming activities/events, and coordinate activities with other members of the Business Development Team.
  • Provide strategic insight into future business initiatives, market drivers, and competitor activities for inclusion in local and corporate business plans.
  • Lead the preparation of bid proposal for offshore project by working with headquarter’s offshore team, design approval and operations team to ensure the materials/resources needed to effectively develop and capitalize on new business opportunities.
  • Collect and structure market information, competitors’ information, market trends, local government policy etc. in order -to improve competitive situation.
  • Develop key account customers - customer intimacy

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited university in marine/offshore engineering related major.
  • At least 10 years working experience in offshore industry, preferred candidate with working experience from big offshore companies.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a sales, marketing or business development function focusing on selling highly technical risk and safety consulting services to a diverse customer base across the oil & gas and/or petrochemical sector.
  • Proven sales background including track record of achieving sales quota and demonstrated proficiency in developing strategically important customer relationships and developing new service offerings.
  • Experience with the introduction of new services offerings or entering new market segments and knowledge of experimental design/experimental marketing is highly desirable.
  • Be motivated to achieve specific, challenging and focused results personally and for the team.
  • Strong presence as a leader and ability to quickly establish credibility and build relationships, both internally (with management, peers and employees), as well as externally (with customers, analysts and key people across a range of industry sectors).
  • A strong customer service focus.
  • Excellent business judgment, including the ability to assess the reasonableness and likelihood of success of various business alternatives.
