Otis will move all engineering staff in Shanghai into a new Hongqiao office which home to 600 engineers. The new office together with the R&D facility, will support development of new technologies for use in elevators for versatile market segments, delivering higher efficiency and smaller footprints, as well as superior safety, comfort and convenience for passengers. The Shanghai center will work with a global network of experts and have global exposure on assignments.

Responsibilities:

The back-end Web software engineer are generally responsible for server-side web application logic and integration of the work front-end developers do. He/She is also responsible for providing the web services and APIs used by Web front-end application and mobile phone APP.

In our industry, the back-end software engineer are also responsible for designing and developing architecture with cyber security requirements.

Typical back-end Web software engineer responsibilities are:

• Responsible for maintaining and develop all parts of a complex service-oriented system

• Work with a large arsenal of open source and cutting-edge technologies such as Node.js, Angular.js, MySQL, Docker, RabbitMQ and Redis.

• Plan and implement model data structures for scalability

• Write secure code

• Participate in all phases of the development life cycle

• Work on the maintenance and improvement of existing data structures

• Research, evaluate and analyze technical and design requirements

• Develop additional server level functionality and tools using a .NET language (C# preferred).

• Troubleshoot and fix bugs/flaws to ensure servers are running optimally.

• Incorporate standards-based development processes for website and web/mobile applications.

• Assist with website strategy and planning.

• Subject matter expert, providing: guidelines, best practices and training to other individuals

• Formulate concepts and ideas for additional products, tools and services

• The candidate shall responsible for providing strategy, advisory, reference resources, training and support to product development teams for implementing Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices.

• Assist software development teams on topics such as threat modeling, secure design requirements, and secure coding standards.

  Specialized Technical Skills:

  - Minimum 3+ years of IT experience in IOT product based companies.

  - Expert in Python, with knowledge of at least the Django Python web framework such as Django, Flask, etc.

  - Familiarity with ASP.Net framework and C#

  - Familiarity with SQL Server or MySQL
  - Familiarity with RESTful APIs

  - Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

  - Understanding cloud based platform, such as Azure or AWS
  - Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
  - Strong unit test and debugging skills
  - Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git or SVN

Education/Certifications: B.S. in Computer Science or a closely related technical field. Masters preferred

Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of IT experience in IOT product based companies.

• This individual be self-directed, highly motivated, and organized with strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

• Ability to learn new technologies or concepts quickly to adapt and adjust to the changing cyber threat landscape.

Must possess communication and presentation skills
