Position Focus:
Asia Base - Focus on country’s supplier base and specific commodity groups; responsible to implement commodity purchasing strategy and program launches; define, propose & lead the supplier quality assurance processes - execution of supplier quality certification and development (assessment and development plan); supplier quality assurance approval (APQP/PPAP) for program launch (critical parts and high impact suppliers) and Supplier quality performance Improvement (problem solving and short term improvement actions, as per escalation process).
Management Scope:
Assure and lead supplier’s quality assurance deliverables.
Interface and cooperate with plant’s supplier quality engineer (SQE) for supplier’s PPAP releases, problem solving and short term improvement plan, as per escalation process.
Job Description:
Manage supplier quality and cooperate with supply chain and logistics team deploying improvement activities for delivery performance whenever applicable; based on supplier quality handbook, with tools and methodologies developed by central quality office.
Train plant’s SQE supplier quality management skill and some technology skills (SQTS use and maintenance).
Lead plant’s SQE to solve some urgent and critical quality issues to be sure new program launch successfully and normal production keep running without supplier’s disruptions.
Improve strategic supplier management level; in alignment with sourcing strategy.
Cooperate with buyer in order to develop new supplier, such as potential supplier audit, or existing suppliers, some similar supplier comparison report etc. Bering responsible for supplier’s quality operational systems certification (audits and approval). Organizing and conducting quality audits with cross representative teams as applicable.
Assure that all new/modified critical parts received from suppliers are accompanied by the correct release documents. APQP/PPAP execution and deliver for critical parts, as defined by launch team or engineering requirements (SC & CC) – Properly utilizing Lear profile system, in alignment with LPMP requirements. Support to verify and approve APQP and PPAP documents for critical suppliers & parts.
Ensure correct reporting of data to top management as well as SRM and SQTS database.
Lead supplier’s quality development and improvement activities. (supplier improvement plan (SIP) – definition, deployment, execution and closure)
Identify process related designated characteristics and provide them to suppliers.
Execute, support and cooperate with plant’s SQE for an active supplier concern management process: review supplier 8D response; coordinate with Regional Purchasing for consistent problem suppliers; conduct quality management review meetings with specific suppliers and verify correct actions.
Communicate events, lessons learned, problems and supplier’s quality reports to partners in plants.
Lead supplier quality group and establish standardize supplier’s quality assurance strategy.
Perform continuous improvement activity by pulling together best practice of processes.
Leading localization part qualification, as defined by sourcing strategy and program launch, in alignment with critical suppliers and parts definition.
Qualification:
Quality professional with a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience, including 5+ years of executing and leading quality assurance processes in growing organizations, in special in supplier quality functions in automotive industry.
An individual with solid academic training, in special Bachelor / Master Degree in science and/or technology. BA/BS or MSC Degreein Engineering.
6Sigma and 8D problem solving methodologies – RED “X” convergence is an advantage.
Familiar with GD&T, good understanding of specific commodities processes such as: plastic molding, electronics, PCB, casting, stamping
Knowledge of AIAG’s Core Tools.
TS / IATF 16949 knowledge it is a must, qualified TS internal auditor is a mandatory.
Familiar with CQI special process assessment checklists
Strong written and oral communication skills required – English and local language.
Good computer skills with Microsoft Office
Familiarity with program management tools preferred.
Ability to travel
