Responsibilities:
- Operational lead of the Diesel development team and responsibility for task execution within the project frame work (budget, timing, technical target, resources and quality)
- Comprehensive understanding of Engine, EAS and OBD system to meet China 6/VI regulation.
- Understanding of Engine, EAS and OBD development process
- Understanding of Chinese GB regulations (LD/HD) required for engine and vehicle development
- Representing the professional image of AVL at all times
- Technical offer preparation and report writing
- Responsibility for continuous efficiency improvement, safety & quality assurance within the Development department
- Manage, develop and motivate development team, conduct the teams resource planning
- Active interfacing with other departments, e.g. plant facility, test factory, design and project management
- Professional overview of automotive industry and drive-train development trends
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 year experience; good overview of the state of technology and profound technical knowledge in the fields of engine test-bed- and chassis-dyno vehicle development for:
- Diesel Light and Heavy duty to include commercial on-road and off-road engines with particular focus on emission development for DOC, DPF, SCR, ASC
- Some level of working knowledge of OBD for LD or HD is preferable
- Fluent in the English technical terminology (written and spoken command of English); German and/or Chinese would be beneficial
- Good Management and organizational skills are essential
- Good communication and presentation skills, both in-house and for customer liaison purposes
- Motivated to convey his/her knowledge to the team (training / team development)
- Taken for granted: Highly self-motivated team player displaying a high degree of initiative (problem-solving skills, self-directed approach to work)
- Ready to travel and pronounced interest for inter-cultural working environment
