The Amazon Kindle team is seeking a Risk Management Specialist for our Kindle Books Self Publishing Operation. This is an exciting opportunity to work on highly visible projects and be part of history in the making.
The Risk Management Specialist will:
Evaluate copyright and appropriateness for Kindle content.
Effectively prioritize work time to ensure productivity and fulfill team standards for time spent in order to consistently achieve service levels.
Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and expedient resolutions for critical issues.
Regularly invent and simplify to drive process changes, build new processes and implement emerging and changing policies.
Leverage technology and innovation to bring continuous improvement to the operational processes.
Work effectively in a cross-functional environment with legal, technical, and product management teams.
Candidates must be willing to view and evaluate content that may be adult, explicit, considered religiously sensitive, politically extreme or otherwise offensive.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree is required
Exceptional level of organization
2-3 years of process experience in publishing, software testing, customer service or similar production environment
Experience working in startup and/or internet technologies is preferred
Ability to drive process creation, change management and continuous improvement
Possess accountability for optimizing the self-publishing process to achieve operational goals
Fluent in Chinese and English
Ability to travel to the US on occasion, when required
Willingness to review content that may be explicit, adult content, or otherwise offensive (amongst other risk types)
3+ years experience in customer service and or book publishing industry
Comfortable handling a high volume of work on a daily basis
Must have strong MS Excel skills
Diligent work ethic
Strong attention to detail
Strong personal/integrity
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with process design and documentation
Proficiency with Lean and Six Sigma tools
Experience using project management tools to drive results
Experience simplifying and/or automating complex processes
SQL querying skills, experience with databases
Strong data analysis tools, using MS excel and similar software
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong technical and analytical aptitude, including some knowledge of statistics
Must be able to think creatively and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
A passion for books and reading
Experience in digital media and knowledge of the publishing industry is a plus
