Role Purpose:
? Lead regional project
? Present projects to business and to external customers to gain approval
? Document project scope for approval and subsequent implementation plan
? Draw up proposals highlighting cost/efficiency/service benefits and lead-time impact
? Deliver tangible performance results through leading the development of key business logistics support solutions both customers facing and internal
? Work in conjunction with operational teams to ensure successful implementation and follow on tracking of benefits
? Work with customers and internal business functions to develop & support and have responsibility for the implementation of logistics solutions generating service and cost efficiencies
? Review the structure of logistics flows to define available benefits from drawing these into a co-ordinated network structure
? Support improvement of operational business processes
? Indentify new business opportunities and propose approeriated business approach to the management
? Track progress & report of project implementation
? Track after-life benefits

Key Responsibilities:
? The analysis and identification of logistics solutions offering cost reduction opportunities and or efficiency gains to GKN Freight Services and its customers
? Utilise effective project tool-kit to management of complex business process change requirement for deployment into the business with responsibility for effective & on-time implementation
? Report progress on deliverables and manage deviations
? To lead the execution of external supply chain/logistics projects with the support of the appropriate Operations teams and business units, covering:
？ Customer driven improvements
？ Commercially driven improvements
？ Service driven improvements (excluding operational issues)
? Lead the execution of internal projects with the support of the appropriate Operations teams and business units, covering:
？ Process driven improvements
？ Cross-functional issues
？ Standardisation and preparation for the implementation of Best Working Practice
？ Performance driven improvements
? Data mining & management to feed reporting & analysis activities / Freight audit support
? Deployment of standard Kaizen process across operations teams
? Assist VP-Business Solutions in defining & developing global business support to introduce best and standard practise & align service offer & capabilities across regions
? Coordinate regional transport lane/flows and take the lead on improvement plan construction and implementation. Leads this activity for inter-regional flows
? Interface with customer supply chain function on complex change initiatives to align service offer and translate requirement into the operations area
? Support ongoing VAVE activities & analysis
? Participate in monthly Regional Supply Chain Group Meetings and provide key project updates
? Other ad-hoc taks and project requested by the management

Qualification:
? Strong operational logistics back-ground incl. warehouse/platform management
? Experience of operations and logistics solution design
? Highly numerate with strong Excel skills
? Excellent communicator at all levels, both orally and in writing
? Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills.
? First class customer services skills
? Able to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines
? Working knowledge of network modelling applications, preferably CAPS / Infor an advantage
? Prince 2 project management qualification (or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent working experience
? Experience of working within a matrix team environment
? Process engineering experience

Desirable:
? Previous automotive logistics experience a benefit
? Degree in logistics, supply chain or associated field
? Knowledge of ERP system

Language:
? Good command of Enghlish both written and oral is essential

Travel requests:
? May require occasional regional travel
