职位描述：
Design Engineer
As a Design Engineer at Caterpillar, you will have an opportunity to perform design, development, and maintenance of new or existing products and components.
  
  Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  
  * Takes responsibility for the design concept and design layout using the manual or computer graphics system
  * Performs design calculations and participates in design decisions
  * Along with the supporting technical team, provides technical leadership to Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Marketing, Sales, Service and other areas.
  * Works with considerable latitude in coordinating and providing design expertise
  * Refines and improves product designs by conducting investigations and developing solutions
  * Consults with engineers to determine work objectives and the means to achieve them
  * Provides technical leadership for Designers, Layout Drafters, Drafting Technicians and purchased drafting support
  * Maintains close communications with Assemblers and Test Engineers during product buildup and testing
* Travels to plant and supplier sites to solve design problems and other quality issues.
  
Required Qualifications:
  
  * Bachelor's or Master Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience as s Design Engineer, 1-3 years of relevant engineering experience
  * Excellent analytical skills
  * Must have strong problem solving skills, a good mechanical and/or electrical/electronic aptitude, and good communications skills
Desired Qualifications:
  
  * Proficiency in Pro/E or other modeling or simulation tools
* Familiar with engine structure
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
* Engine component resource experience
