1. Purpose of the job
- Assists from a quality assurance point of view in the selection and qualification process of suppliers and monitors their adherence to the imposed quality standards.
- Assists from a quality point of view in validation.
- Handle nonconformity parts and deviations of supplier, trace the result of suppliers corrective actions.
- Analysis approval supplier quality level in order to help their improvement.
- As a proficient mechanical engineer, you are the reference for all technical aspects of catalog parts in China. You overlook at the design, spec review, the quality control (dimensional/ appearance/ functioning) and the validation processes of catalog suppliers.
- The components vary from cooling system/ braking parts/ pumps/ motors/ sealings/ fasteners. For each aspect you support from your theoretical training and practical experience the Operations, Product Design, Incoming inspection, Supplier Management and Strategic Purchasing departments.
- Major accountabilities
- Contributes to the qualification and selection process of potential suppliers by
● analyzing and judging the quality assurance system of the potential suppliers
● evaluating the potential supplier’s production systems
Deliverable: ensure a continuous level of quality in supply from locally sourced products.
- Evaluates the potential supplier’s production (manufacturing) systems and judges whether these systems are able and capable to guarantee a supply of goods ( components) according to the Companies requirements.
- Is responsible for handling nonconformity parts and analyze deviations. Follows up suppliers quality problems and quality performance in such a way (feedback loops) that
● incoming inspection can be reduced, or
● incoming inspection can be replaced by deliveries with certificates, and
● internal production is not jeopardized.
- Experience and knowledge sharing
Build and share knowledge and experience internally and externally in order to leverage expertise and performance level of the team and the broader organization.

● Identify and circulate best practices among other colleagues;
● Participate in fora and events
● Sharing available tools
- Supplier Development
Coordinate, plan and steer cross-functional activities in order to reach the departmental goals.
Steer, develop and coach cross-functional members in order to maximize performance.

● Coach on regular basis (8D/ PFMEA/ PDCA)
● Set objectives (ppm/ NCR#/ COPQ/ Charge back ratio)
● Supplier readiness
