Purpose of the Job
Ensure the company is in compliance with all local corporate laws requirements
Provide advices and hands on support on contractual and legal matters
Ensure that company takes contractual and legal commitments with acceptable levels of risks
Lead a small team of legal counsel in supporting the tender procedures in China

Responsibilities
In this role the Senior Legal Counsel will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage issues within areas of expertise.
? Working closely with commercial and operation team to provide the legal support such as:
1. Provide legal support to sales and tender teams on tender activities, including contract drafting, reviewing and negotiation
2. Provide legal support to project teams on claim management, dispute settlement and other legal issues arising during the course of performing the contracts
? Working closely with the Alstom China management and Joint Ventures management on:
1. Accurate and timely recording of the Minutes of Board Meetings
2. Ensuring necessary licenses, insurance, leases and extended accordingly
3. Provide legal advice on Chinese law and Chinese regulatory matters
4. Monitor the implementation of licensing agreements and IPR related matters
? Serve as the contact point for coordinating and cooperating with external counsel and internal customers; cooperation on international and local projects of different character
? Development and delivery of legal training to other functions and joint ventures

Educational Requirements
? Legal education background, LL.B or above from a recognized accredited institution
? Qualification to practice law in China
? Business qualification is a plus

Technical Knowledge / Experience
? Experience of 6~10 years (PQE) in business and contract law
? Good background in corporate law
? Relevant experience with a multi-national corporation or law firm in China
? Involvement in complex contract claims and/or M&A process is a major plus
? Previous exposure to international practice through studies or work experience is a plus
? Previous experience in transportation system industry is a plus
? Fluency in written and spoken English
