Position Summary: (Base in Singapore)
The Associate, Asia Strategy & Insights is responsible for helping define DESTACO’s market position and driving greater customer insights for the Asia region to help drive growth. He/she will partner closely with senior stakeholders across Asia and the rest of the world on an ongoing basis. He/she will also selectively work on global projects and track market movements that impact DESTACO’s overall business.
The Associate, reports to the Director, Asia Strategy & Insights for DESTACO. The position will be located in Singapore and requires some travel (up to 25%). The position requires the ability to work and communicate cross functionally and across Asia and the broader DESTACO global strategy organization, enabling the successful growth for the region.
Key Job Responsibilities immediate priorities of the role include but are not limited to:
? Assist the Director, Asia Strategy & Insights on strategy development process for DESTACO business units within the region working collaboratively with the regional and global leadership.
? Enhance DESTACO’s customer and business insights capabilities within the region, developing segmentation models, sizing markets and segments and using VOC to understand current and unmet customer needs.
? Build competitive intelligence capabilities, profiling key competitors and monitoring progress over time. Implement process to assess and track market share by segment in each key market.
? Track monthly leading and lagging indicators for the industry to map out relative performance of DESTACO’s business
? Identify potential acquisition targets within the region, develop relationships and lead any deal or due diligence processes.
? Work on specific, targeted growth strategies for each business, define implementation plans and track progress against targets.
? Support the Annual Operating Plan and Strategy Development processes.

Job Requirements:
Experience:
We seek a candidate who is capable of delivering both excellent strategy and practical execution. The following are key requirements for the position:
? Two to three years as a Researcher/Analyst/Associate/Business Development executive with a strategy or sales and marketing consulting firm is desired. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are a requisite.
? Deep experience in Asian markets, including China.
? Demonstrated experience in engineered products and services; industrial automation experience preferred. The ideal candidate would have direct knowledge of DESTACO’s channels and end markets.
? Strong research & analytical capabilities. Ability to source data that is difficult to find.
? Strong program management capabilities & ability to manage external vendors when required
? Must be an independent, self-starter who is results oriented.
? A good team player with the ability to work across cultures and in a matrixed organization.
? Strong potential to grow into a managerial role
? Outstanding communication and presentation skills
? Command of the English & Mandarin language a must.
? Bachelor degree required; MBA a strong plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
? Strategic, visionary leader with long-term global focus and tenacity to achieve results
? Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
? Outstanding analytical skills
? Demonstrated ability to drive an analytically-based sales management process

Education and Certification Qualifications:
? Masters of Science degree in business preferred
