1. Purpose of the job:
In the Process Engineering dept. the Process engineer defines and implements the process of new components. He validates the status of implementation of the final. Continuously optimizing the production processes under his responsibility. He gives technical support to the shop floor. In the execution of his responsibilities he is working closely together with the manufacturing engineers and with the cell brigadiers.
2. Major accountabilities:
2.1. New production preparation
Handling following jobs In order to define all the process of operation.
- Based up drawings and specifications of the gear boxes provided by the R&D Department /product developers, he/she defines the working process.
- Make the testing plan for the prototype and implement it.
- Resolve the problems happened in prototype.
- Make working instruction, design the fixtures and modify it if necessary.
- Make purchase requirement for new tools of this production.
- Introduce the new tools and fixtures for all the operators.
2.2. Organise and optimise assembly working places
- Handling following jobs in order to improve the workshop productivity.
- Advises line management on the purchase of new tools and equipment: gives specific information with regard to capacity of required technical specifications.
- Takes care of and coordinates the installation and commissioning of new tools
2.3. Continuous improvement
In order to advance the quality of production and cut down cost.
- As a member in BPT(Best practice team) or Expert team, make technology research.
- Make the research report and give advice to the PE manager.
- Introduce the research result into production; advance the quality or the productivity.
- Improve quality and productivity by application of new technology
- Cut down the cost for per Gear box.
2.4. Problems analyzing
In order to improve the quality of production
- Analyzing every problem of Gear box and make report.
- Modify the work instruction or make process changing.
- Train the operators; let them know why it happened and how to avoid it.
- Trace this problem to all relative gear boxes.
- Pay attention to this problem in future.
2.5. Establish and updated standard work time
In order to establish the standard time
- Give reasonable standard time for all process base on actual action and target.
- Updated standard time when need.
2.6. Training for operators
In order to guarantee quality of new production and new process, training shoud be handled.
- Prepare training material.
- Give training to related person
- Check training result and give feedback.
2.7. Service after sale support.
In order to support the work of service after sale.
- Make work instruction for all service jobs.
- Ordering special tools and make preparation for this kind of job.
- Visit customer for analyzing the Broken Gear Box and give suggestions to customer.
- Work in wind farm; repair Gear Box under the help of Service Department (Belgium).
2.8. Experience and knowledge sharing
Build and share knowledge and experience internally and externally in order to leverage expertise and performance level of the team and the broader organization.
Examples of activities:
- Identify and circulate best practices among other colleagues;
- Participate in fora and events
- Sharing available tools
