About the client
Our client is a leading mechanical and plant engineering company headquartered in Europe; currently they are looking for a Director of Site Management.
About the role
Job Title: Director of Operations - Project Management
Report to: General Manager
Subordinates: 50 staff
Location: Qingpu District, Shanghai
? Manage with the PM Team the projects in Execution with regards to cost and time schedule
? Foresighted Planning for projects in execution, as well as for projects in the sales pipeline
? Overview and manage/control risks and chances in the projects and inform the line manager in time
? Overall cost analysis for the projects
? Ensure strict adherence to the Project Management tools and the department’s workflow principles. (Compliance with company rules)
? Adviser for the PM´s in strategical questions
? Leading the Team leaders, if still not available, develop people to this position (career planning)
？ Team-Leader Project Management
？ Team-Leader Fabrication
？ Team Leader Site Supervision and Commissioning
? Active personnel development for all the staff in the Operation, also includes a reliable human resource planning
? Creating a Training plan for all the different jobs in Operation, Project and Site Management
? Making a frequent follow- up with the staff
? Weekly JF with the individual Team-Leaders
? Involvement in the Risk Assessment of Sales Projects
? Supporting the Sales
? Close cooperation with DSDE in common projects
? Strategic supplier analysis of subcontractors together with Purchasing dept. Leader
? Establish a “lessons learned” organization
? Weekly Report to the Management about the highlights
? Project-based decision-making authority
? Authorized to give technical directives to project team
? Setting of priorities for project processing
? Delegation of tasks to the project team
? Monitoring of the work of team members
? Legally relevant communication with the customer
Qualifications & skills required
? Advanced technical vocational education, preferred chemical – or process engineering or related subject with specialization in thermodynamics, combustion technology, energy management or environmental technologies (but not mandatory)
? Experience in project management or order execution; 8-10 year work experience in similar environment is requested.
? Good technical understanding for complex engineered solutions
? Good written and verbal communication skills in both of Chinese and English.
? Cost conscious working, decisive and determined Readiness to flexible traveling.
? High motivated and flexible, able to work under pressure.
? Experience with Microsoft office applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project, as well as basic knowledge of Auto CAD.
? Good ability to summarize facts and situations
? Team work spirit and self-driven.
? Age: flexible according to the experience.
