Main Purpose and Major Challenges of the Role:
The project manager role is an internal IS function, acting as the delivery function to the IS organisation. Working with the China IS Manager, the Business Analyst and project Manager will be responsible for troubleshooting problems or queries that impact provision of IS services to their business customers.
The incumbent is accountable for pulling together elements of IS activity related to concepts and business cases plus co-ordinate sign-offs as required across IS, EPO & vendor partners. Project manager will support the China IS Manager in creating a business focus within IS. PM role is responsible for pulling together a monthly report with project status, IS charges & areas of business focussed innovation and adding analysis & management commentary to these reports.
Role accountabilities:
Project Engagement:
? Engage and manage IS Application and infrastructure & service related projects.
? Involvement in various IS-enable business projects and focus on IS resolution.
Business Support
? Provide functional expertise and advice in best-in-class processes and systems to support Fonterra China’s value chain, specifically consumer sales and supply chain processes, business analytics and performance management, distributor and sale force systems, CRM, e-commerce and digital platforms.
? Assist in definition and delivery of the China application roadmap.
? Understand the business processes and define and propose appropriate changes to achieve best in class processes
Planning
Contribute to the development of business cases in client business unit(s), anticipating system requirements, liaise with Business Process Owners regarding process requirements, and translating business requirements to ensure:
? Agreed and appropriate level of IS delivery which enables the business to meet its objectives.
? Cross organisation view of business needs, developments and visibility of potential impacts exists.
? An awareness of operational constraints and capability is maintained in the business.
? Business units are able to articulate strategy so that IS can enable and support the strategy.
? Understanding and support of changes in the Fonterra business model, and reflect this in the business engagement process.
IS Management Support
Co-ordinate, facilitate and provide support by providing information, answering queries and resolving issues, and integrating with IS Solutions/Service delivery and support functions, to ensure:
? appropriate processes are in place to manage team activities in conjunction with internal suppliers;
? co-ordination of sign-off across IS and the relevant business stakeholders and IS suppliers;
? processes and practices are aligned with Fonterra IS standard practices as these are developed;
? expectations, risks and issues with regards to the delivery of IS solutions are highlighted and escalated.
Reporting
? Develop and produce a daily, weekly and monthly project report that describes the status of IS project, IS charges & areas of business focussed innovation
? Work analyst teams across IS to include financial and non-financial information, plus add analysis & management commentary to these reports.
? Analyse, collate and provide commentary on reports, in conjunction with EPO and across IS, on assigned business unit and programmes of work, to ensure accurate information is provided to the business and to IS on programme progress and business unit priorities.
Relationship Management
? Support the IS Manager in sustaining strategic business partnership between Fonterra IS and the client business management/owners through the development and maintenance of effective working relationships, and a strong understanding of business goals and objectives which assist to identify and prioritise, IS business requirements to ensure:
? An intimate and thorough understanding and interpretation of business goals and objectives;
? An intimate and thorough knowledge of assigned business unit and customers, including key people and their roles;
? Understanding and anticipation of business needs and manage expectations;
? All key customers know who the Business Solutions Manager is and their role;
? Assigned business unit see the Business Solutions Manager as a key trusted advisor, and a “face” of IS;
? The value add of IS is communicated and understood by the business unit.
