Responsibilities:
• Define and execute the fabric engineering strategy that supports the global road maps of
SPD and NPD as well as the BXM operations targets.
• Collaborate with design, product and fabrics engineers at HQ, to improve fabrics concepts and to ensure manufacturability.
• Coordinate with PM to make detail activity plan for fabric product development.
• Plan resource and assign tasks to team member in order to meet project plan.
• Support team member in communication and give technical guidance when needed.
• Review the performance and PDP for fabric team.
• Review the schedule of each project and plan resource with PM.
• Check released APP/Drawing and Golden sample from fabric engineer.
• Support SC to search fabric material and haberdasheries.
• Assure the execution of the fabric library roadmap and keep the library up to date.
• Work with QE/SP/IE /Supplier to evaluate technical feasibility, quality standards and risks of fabric(workmanship and raw material)
• Lead the fabric engineering team as well as the fabric sample room and continuously increase their performance and competences.
• Assure flexibility of sample room capacity in close collaboration with sourcing, HQ and SP.
• Accountable for cost break down estimations made by fabric engineering
Interact on a daily base with sourcing, suppliers, SP, QA (test lab, compliance, SQE HQ and Xiamen), packaging engineering, fabric engineering NL, project management, lead engineer/engineer.
Education
- Bachelor degree in Textile Engineering
Experience
- More than 8 years’ experience in fabric product manufacturing, management & development.
- More than 4 years’ experience in an international company
Specific knowledge
- Knowledge Nylon & Polyester & Cotton material;
- Good understanding of Quality inspection;
- Expertise in fabric product development and fabric production techniques;
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin (writing, reading, listening & speaking);
