Primary responsibilities include engineering change releasing and implementation, providing on-site material logistics functions, CBS DRICEF budget control and solution delivery.
 
Supervises daily activities of staff by coaching, delegating, monitoring progress and providing direction and technical support. Plans for future material handling needs, equipment, and manpower requirements and prepares operating budget for assigned areas. Works closely with Order/scheduling, Purchasing, Warehouse, GSND, Manufacturing planning, Factory Engineering, suppliers and other areas to ensure customer needs are met utilizing least total cost alternatives. Challenge is to implement cost effective projects within acceptable parameters for schedule, budget, cost reduction and return on investment while providing uninterrupted, quality service to customers.
 
§ Manage reviewing engineering change notice PLCN / PACN /EDN for completeness and correctness. Analyze engineering changes or drawing notices to investigate the impact on the assigned product, and to the various Manufacturing and Purchasing areas, and determine top level parts source (PKG, END, GEN, Control panel) and buy levels with appropriate BOM breakdown. And set and control change effective date in CBS.
 
§ Work closely with EOMP and PC&DM team, and L4/L5 engineers to ensure alignment of effective consistency and accuracy of configurable BOM / VC / OD between EOMP and CBS.
 
§ Coordinate the implementation of engineering changes & releases, as a liaison between Supply Chain (including Orders / scheduling, Procurement, Import/export, and Warehouse), Global Purchasing, Engineering, Assembly Planning, Quality control and Assembly Operations, to ensure promise dates of material and data information are met and suggests process improvements necessary to meet production dates.
 
§ Facilitate Engineering Change and Releasing meetings; Assists in leading team to resolution of problems and issues; Assists in setting work priorities to effective accomplish tasks; Work is discussed and reviewed while it is being done, and upon completion.
 
· Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure the timely and efficient receipt and delivery of materiel to activity points along the material flow path. Ensure adherence to corporate policies and practices by working effectively with appropriate functional areas to maintain a high-velocity material flow.
 
POU in house / returnable container design/improvement and inbound / outbound material packaging approval/design/improvement. Ensure enough containers to support assembly processes.
 
Manage material to PFEP-defined flow paths and presentation strategy and purchasing parameters. Implement pull replenishment, minimal floor space for part staging, and presenting parts to POU in an ergonomic fashion.
 
Coordinate the budget control and solution review / delivery of CBS DRIECF across GCIO, BR, GT/CBS, the requestor and the third party. Manage the contract sign off, development timeline, and payment with the third party.
 
 
Minimal Travel Required (<5% working time)

POSITION IMPACTS: Incumbent is responsible to achieve PQVC targets across Safety, ECN/BOM accuracy and implementation, Logistics planning, CBS DRICEF budget control and delivery
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of Caterpillar Leadership Training
Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma Project Management principles
CPS Functional Job Role Qualified
APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification highly desired
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
College or university degree related to Supply Chain is required.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
Solid product knowledge
Minimum of six years of progressively responsible supply chain job experience
Excellent teamwork and leadership skills
Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
Solid logistics and manufacturing knowledge
 
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
New product Introduction and engineering change releasing and implementation
Knowledge of CBS PP and MM module, and CBS DRICEF
Experience in Supply Chain / Logistics or Transportation Management
Extensive material distribution experience
Knowledge of material handling equipment
Working understanding of the various materials systems and how they interrelate
