Overall Responsibility:

The Electrical Engineer, under minimal supervision is responsible for the detailed electrical and instrumentation design, construction, and commissioning of manufacturing plants in Asia and is expected to assist with projects in other parts of the world when available. The work will include field support for on-going manufacturing operations. This position also assists with building the business relationships required to secure new contracts and participates in the gathering of site survey information.

Candidate should possess the following:
? 8 -10 years experience in Electrical Engineering within the chemical industry
? Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
? Knowledge of international electrical standards and practices including NEMA and IEC.
? Knowledge of complete industrial electrical power systems. Including medium voltage equipment, transformers, low voltage motor control systems, control logic, cable and cable tray installation, lighting, lightning protection and grounding
? Knowledge of industrial process instrumentation types, uses and installations.
? Knowledge of industrial Siemens PLC control systems.
? Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
? Ability to create, read and understand engineering drawings including single line diagrams, motor schematics, instrument loop drawings, etc
? Construction and contracts experience in all aspects of industrial electrical design and construction.
? Ability and willingness to travel (domestic and international) and work in plants for durations up to 2-3 weeks at a time.
? Ability to work well without supervision and with others.
? “Can do” attitude.
? Ability to understand and coordinate the interrelationships between engineering disciplines both internal and external.
? Ability to work with outside engineering resources to accomplish time dependent goals.
? Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.





Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supports Project Managers, Process Engineers, Project Engineers, Designers and Plant Managers.
2. Creates, updates, and maintains the standard Electrical Drawings, Electrical Equipment Specifications, Instrument Specifications, and Instrumentation Installation Drawings.
3. Generates bid package documents for project electrical and instrumentation engineering work.
4. Assists engineering firms to create complete facility electrical and instrumentation construction document packages. Clarifies SMI standards including the review of engineering firm drawings, schedules, specifications and other document for adherence to SMI engineering safety and design standards, project needs, cost savings and construction simplicity.
5. Reviews design drawings for accuracy and completeness.
6. Works with vendors and engineering firms to purchase project electrical/instrumentation equipment. Equipment shall meet SMI safety and design standards, local regulations, and project needs.
7. Assists in evaluating equipment and instrument quotations and in the review of vendor drawings.
8. Assists in the evaluation of contractors and bids.
9. Assists detailed Designers and Process Engineers with equipment questions.
10. Provides periodic on-site support for construction, commissioning, start up and on-going operations troubleshooting.
11. Works with Field Construction Manager and Project Teams to resolve electrical and instrument design conflicts and to expedite equipment information or design information.
12. Assists defining and coordinating the use, repair and transportation of existing electrical and instrument assets.
13. Assists with obtaining necessary construction and building permits.
14. Obtains feedback and details on operating issues after start up. Evaluates, recommends and implements consequential actions for plants in design.
15. Understands Lean Manufacturing Concepts and how they are applied to engineering/construction/design of the plant. 举报 分享
