Regional Business Manager - East China

Job Purpose

-The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the achievement of Company's ambition to become a leading international wine company in China by driving business development with wider market coverage and deeper market penetration. Specifically, this role will be responsible for the East China Region
-Focus on key Provinces/Cities in East China with immediate focus on Shanghai, Zhejiang Province (Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou) and Jiangsu Province (Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Kunshan)
-Develop, guide and monitor performance of existing and new regional distributors in East China Region, so as to
-Increase focus and execution effectiveness on Foundation brands
-Gain new distribution for market champion and local brands
-Build up and monitor performance of regional sales team across key cities in East China Region
-Work closely with Regional Marketing Team to execute branding building and promotional programs, and provide venue level activity support
-Develop and synthesize regional and city level market insights

Position Description

-Volume and Profit / Operations
-Responsible for developing and implementation of sales and distribution strategies within agreed budgets to meet or exceed annual plan objectives; develop close partnerships with distributors to translate strategies into action and execution plans
-Accountable for the evaluation of distributor performance, addressing any key areas of opportunities to ensure the delivery of objectives
-Accountable for the achievement of distribution targets & volume growth as designated by channel and brand, through effective distributor management and, where appropriate, through direct account management to end customers
-Accountable for educating and partnering with customers to ensure adequate understanding and awareness of Company brand direction & effective selling techniques; ensure distributors understand the consumer/customer proposition for each Company product and are best equipped to influence sales that most effectively impact bottom volume growth
-Accountable for all customers trading within agreed trading terms; address issues of non-compliance to trading terms whilst still maintaining an effective relationship with customers
-Accountable for the achievement of net sales revenue per case (NRPC) and gross margin objectives
-Accountable for the identification of ad hoc below-the-line programs to drive volume within agreed budgets; continually seek opportunities to drive growth and consumer engagement with Company products
-Accountable for the discount/rebate budgets
-Build and maintain competitive insight, and report competitor activities along with recommendations to minimise impact on Company
-Responsible for developing and maintaining a strong trade relationship with key strategic accounts
-Accountable for enhance Company brand/product presence at outlet level
-People Leadership
-Responsible for building up and monitoring performance of regional sales team of both city sales managers and brand ambassadors to successfully execute growth strategy and business plans across key cities in East China Region
-Responsible for all business plans and tactics are communicated clearly and in a timely manner to the team and all others impacted
-Responsible for a strong focus on coaching and developing the team and taking a leadership role in employee performance management
-Responsible for generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment to TWE Strategic Initiatives and Vintrepreneur Behaviours
-Channel & Customer
-Accountable for developing and maintaining market leading channel and customer insights; use knowledge of the consumer to drive Company and distributor planning and performance
-Accountable for a strong understanding of market segmentation, and use knowledge to ensure customer focus on providing the right mix of products, in the right place, at the right time
-Responsible for partnering with distributors and, where possible, direct key customers to better build understanding of key customer business drivers and needs
-Responsible for developing close working relationships with distributors and key customers to accelerate sustainable growth, and to ensure Company is best able to capitalise on growth opportunities in the field
-Innovation
-Accountable for identifying opportunities for innovation within the China business, including new products, improved trade marketing, and any other process innovations that can enhance Company business
-Responsible to champion corporate or global innovation efforts in the region
-Responsible for having an understanding of trends as they are developing, or to predict trends based on awareness of changes in demographics across the region, and seek out ways Company can capitalise on these trends
-Business Development
-Responsible for utilisation of market data analysis (own, competitive and industry) and identify key business, consumer and trade trends as they emerge
-Responsible to identify & develop new business opportunities across the region to drive growth
-Responsible for the utilisation of consumer/market segmentation knowledge to ensure focus on core brand sales through appropriate channels
-Financial Management
-Responsible for understanding and analyse of business metrics, and utilisation of insight gained from these metrics to adjust strategies and tactics where appropriate for distributors
-Accountable for managing spend and expenses related to growing the business in the region
-Manage local advertising & promotion spend, ensuring spend is properly allocated across core Company brands and will deliver the best possible return on investment
-Responsible for having an understanding of depletion targets, influences and impacts, and work to improve these

Position Requirements

-Qualifications
-Minimum - University degree in Business, or a related discipline
-Experience
-Significant Sales or Business Development experience, approximately 5-10 years of relevant working experience gained in an FMCG, consumer products or beverages organisation
-Demonstrated ability to create and implement sales plans
-Fluent written and spoken English
