As Gates Corporation looks to the future, Product Line Managers (PLM) will support Global Production Line Directors (GPLD) to drive the next phase of our company’s growth. This role will serve as the product line leader to support GPLD development and implementation of the global product line strategic plans in the region - including market / competitive analysis and identifying strategic initiatives that drive profitable growth in the region. S/he will plan, manage, and oversee the formulation of all short-term and long-term objectives and business plans for their product line, including sales, market share, price realization, profitability, VA/VE, quality, delivery and new product vitality in the region. This role will sit between sales, operations and engineering – Supporting GPLD to ensure that the company is investing in the most attractive projects and initiatives to drive short and long terms results for their product line for the region. PLM will work with sales and customers to capture VOC and incorporate it into product planning and execution, and support sales to drive the sales pipeline and close opportunities in the region. PLMs will work with engineering to manage the portfolio of organic investments in the product line across the entire product lifecycle from ideation to commercialization to end-of-life in the region. They will support GPLM and corporate development to identify inorganic (M&A or partnership) opportunities that support their product line strategy.

Overview of Responsibilities:
? Manages P&L for the product line – in cooperation with the GPLD - including interaction with Sales and Operations to achieve financial and other operating metrics in the region.
? Continuously maintain on-time delivery of parts, products, and services as demanded by the customers in coordination with plant operations team.
? Conducts VOC interviews and feeds customer desires into internal organization through customer visits, industry association participation, and competitive research. Document findings and integrate into the MGPP process.
? Maintain current knowledge and expertise of product engineering technologies, new product designs, competitor capabilities and practices, market conditions, and market channels in order to develop short-term and long-term product design and necessary manufacturing strategies in the region.
? Define, implement, and manage product marketing and strategic sales plans to ensure conformance with stated company product sales and service objectives in the region.
? Develop and coordinate product marketing communications messaging for all sales channels, internal and external in the region.
? Establish and maintain acceptable customer service standards with respect to negotiation lead times, product lead times, drawing turnaround time and potential claims.
? Continually analyze and interpret customer questions, requirements, or problems.
? Manage and oversee the preparation of effective quotations, bids, and related negotiation documentation for the sales of products produced by the company in her/his response region.
? Initiate and oversee the NPD process for the product line to achieve clearly defined requirements. Ensure that feature, quality, and cost objectives are reached and that schedules are kept. Prepares required Market Launch materials. Document product specs, strategy, plans, training needs, act as overall project manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
? Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business or Marketing from an accredited institution required; MBA preferred
? Minimum of 7 years of marketing, outside field sales, application engineering and/or product engineering or business development experience
? Minimum of 2 years management of people experience
? Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel
? Work experience utilizing negotiation skills and marketing techniques
? Strategic mindset and strong business acumen
? Asia region work experience and perspective
? Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence with and without authority
