During the contracting/sales process when acquiring new build vessels the New Builds Specialist (NBS) will work with sales to assist in the understanding of any local issues or issues relating to the type of new build that may have an affect on the contract terms.
The main part of the role starts once a new build has been contracted. The NBS will be required to be the lead for each new build vessel within a certain region. This responsibility would then run right from the start of the new build process through to the time that the vessel leaves the shipyard (or has been at sea for a certain number of months)
The NBS will liaise with both customers and shipyards to understand the sequencing/timing of the new build and will take appropriate action to ensure that the correct products are delivered to the vessel on time and in full on each and every occasion. If required the NBS will facilitate the sourcing of alternative supplies on behalf of the customer.
The scope includes all sectors of GME businesses.

The person will be a resource to provide knowledge to front line staff on OEMs approval
The NBS will be the project manager for each new build vessel once the contract has been agreed with the customer. From then on the NBS will be required to:
? Create an implementation plan with the customer and the shipyard
? The individual is required to have an end-to-end process to ensuring product delivery after we secure the new build business. This requires the individual to work closely with shipyard, customer, CS&D/GSC in ensuring we can supply right amount of products to the customer in a timely manner. The individual needs to ensure all products are delivered as agreed with shipyard and/or customer.
? Coordinates the timely delivery of all documentation for the new build vessel, this will include the lubes schedule, machinery lists, tank labels, MSDS's and TDS's. These must all be on board the vessel before it goes to sea. Liaise with our technical engineers to ensure we provide timely delivery of technical training to customers. The individual to carry out customer training occasionally when it is practical to do so.
? After the vessel is set to sail, all operational activities will be handled to sales, technical and CS&D.
? Inform marketing about development of new shipyard locations.
? Liaison with technology and local technical teams in the pursuit of critical local OEM approvals.
Degree or equivalent standard of education.

NBS should build up a broad knowledge about local shipyards including physical locations, local regulations, tax issues (important to understand the Red handbook in China) and our supply capabilities, supply; chemical registration.
NBS should be confident in talking with customers and shipyards and be able to build up long term relationships.
NBS will have a good understanding of OEM's approvals for new builds and the process of how to deal with them.
* Minimum of 5 years commercial experience ideally in technical support/services
