Job Summary

Effectively utilizes Jabil's approved supply base to develop competitive custom mechanical material cost solutions. This includes preparing and distributing concise supplier quotation requests and negotiating with specific commodity suppliers to generate competitive pricing recommendations



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Fully involved in a weekly communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the team

2. Organizes verbal and written ideas clearly and uses an appropriate business style

3. Ensures the efficient and timely exchange of information to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization

4. Supports all custom mechanical quoting activities

5. Attends quote kick-off meetings for all assigned quote projects

6. Identifies information required to obtain accurate quotes from the supply base and ensures its availability for quoting and proposal preparation

7. Prepares supplier Request For Quote (RFQ) packages and solicits quotes from the identified supply base

8. Analyzes supplier quote responses and recommends appropriate pricing solutions to quote Project Manager through development of a costed BOM template

9. Evaluates existing/potential supply sources with Regional Commodity Manager to assist in developing a supply chain strategy appropriate for each quote project

10. Provides feedback regarding supplier performance in providing competitive quotes and related information

11. Negotiates competitive pricing, lead-times, terms and conditions with supply base to support quote project objectives

12. Reviews quotes with Regional Commodity Managers and Material Regional Quotation Manager as required to ensure that pricing recommendations are consistent with the quote proposal objectives

13. Supports Commodity Managers by maintaining knowledge of current/developing suppliers for specified commodities

14. Develops and maintains good working relationships with approved supply base for specified commodities

15. Provides feedback to (and receives input from) Regional Quotation Manager and Regional Commodity Managers about potential new suppliers to be included in quoting activities

16. Performs other special projects for Material Quotations Manager as necessary

17. Exercises a good working knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and sources of supply associated with specific commodities




Education & Experience Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree, 5-10 years’ related experience.

2. Plus 1 year purchasing experience focusing on Jabil-procured commodities

3. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. NAPM, MBA and APICs certifications desired. 举报 分享
