Supplier Development Engineer/Manager
The Company
Our client is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of diversified construction/mining equipments.
It is a set-up of an IPO located in Suzhou, with target of 1.2 billion USD annual sourcing volume in 2012, covering sourcing, supplier development and commodity management in China region. To 2015, the total annual sourcing volume will target to 2 billion USD.

Position Description
Several Engineer and Manager positions for different region.
Within the Regional Sourcing Center organization, responsible for:
The processes and activities that relate to continuous improvement of the Supply Base within the assigned categories / commodities.
Driving improvements by supporting regional category management, strategic sourcing, current issue resolution, new product development, value analysis/value engineering.
Deploying Lean Six Sigma and conducting development programs with strategic suppliers
Execution of SD engineering activities towards:
Sourcing category strategies. Will closely work with Regional Category Manager.
Development of supplier partnership to drive short term and long term strategic capabilities.
Promotion of quality, cost, delivery, strategic alliances, information sharing, customer support and technological advancement with all facets of the organization.
Process excellence through our suppliers.
Promotion and execution of Lean Six Sigma policy deployment within the Supply Base. Engagement of strategic suppliers.
Driving specific and measurable annual Supplier Improvements.
Maintain of theapproved supplier list supporting the RCM.
Evaluation of new potential sources (market research). Assessments.
Support to critical issue resolution (escalation). Support in resolving supplier quality and service issues.
As required, support qualification, audits and problem solving during NPD by leveraging expertize.
Support to execution of VA/VE, productivity improvement, optimum usage of supplier's capacity.
Position Requirements
Bachelors Degree: Engineering-General; Manufacturing; Quality Management. Master degree preferred.
Broad base technical knowledge and skills (quality engineering, QA, Quality systems, operations, supplier management,product development, auditing)
Ability to problem solve and apply quality tools and techniques. Strong knowledge of quality tools required.
Ability to thoroughly understand situations and be solution oriented.
Must be able to communicate with everyone within an organization from persons on the shop floor to top management of companies.
7+ years with 3 years minimum in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, equivalent position (automotive or CE industry preferred).
Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance.
Proven track record of implementing processes and projects and cross functional work experience.
