SUMMARY
Procures production and MRO materials necessary for the operation of the business
Job Requirements
? Bachelor degree in business or technology
? At least 3 years relevant work experience in the automotive industry
? Some knowledge of international trade, and forwarding, business laws
? Good data base system knowledge (Plex or similar)
? Fluent in English reading and writing
? Ability to deal with vendor and the public in a positive and successful manner
? Good sense of responsibility, details-oriented
? Good follow-through spirit
? Good personality and outgoing with strong interpersonal and communication skills
? Good MS and analysis skill, especially Excel
? Excellent logical thinking is preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
? Executes and maximizes Jabil negotiated terms with suppliers to reduce materials liability.
? Issues Purchase Orders to pricing, terms & conditions that are negotiated and agreed to by Jabil Commodity Managers
? Ensures suppliers’ adherence to established agreements.
? Optimizes order management process to ensure effective communication with suppliers.
? Maintains integrity of master data and purchasing planning parameters in order to minimize material liability and to balance the cost of procurement with inventory investment levels.
? Monitors and continuously improves supplier’s delivery and quality performance. Address and resolve recurring or critical issues by utilizing corrective action tools and additional resources.
? Provides inputs to drive and execute Jabil’s commodity and pricing strategy. Works closely with Commodity Managers, provide feedback on supplier performance and Jabil’s strategies.
? Monitors, tracks, and provides feedback on suppliers’ performance on delivery, quality, and service.
? Participates in cost reduction project, and contributes efforts to realize the purpose of cost reduction.
? Performs routine purchase operation and ensures on time material supply. Instructs overseas suppliers to make use of suitable shipping mode according to freight governance policy. Knows how to conduct urgent purchase requirements and purchasing orders. Capable to cope with any delays of purchase orders.
? Takes part in meeting for assessment of non-compliance, and co-operates with suppliers to deal with rejects and compensation. Timely deals with quality issue.
? Maintains supplier database. Manages all the suppliers. Develops current weak suppliers to meet our requirements, and encourages and supports continual improvement of suppliers.
? Avoidance negotiates with suppliers to achieve reasonable price, payment term, delivery term etc. Controls purchasing cost and seeks to reduce purchase cost. Manage and react to monthly purchasing price variance (PPV) report and yearly forecast.
? Assures that materials are available for use before production need. Support planner to control the plant raw material inventory and takes actions to improve plant inventory turn.
? Assists planning function to meet delivery compliance and other customer requirements.
? Takes part in other projects, such as NPI.
? Supports supplier qualification, quarterly assessment. Clearly keeps up necessary supplier management documents related to purchasing. Assists or leads external audits. If necessary, joins in internal audit team to perform internal audit.
? Completes annual budget in terms of Purchase Price, Inbound freight and Customs Duty.
? Performs other duties as may be required by department manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent and three to five years of experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, or equivalent preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines. Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. Be accessible to production floor and office staff and to use required office equipment. Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen frequently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s primary workstation is located in the office area, where the noise level is low. Team member may frequently be present on the manufacturing floor where the noise level is low to moderate.
