Job Duties:

- To contribute to the audit process by conducting comprehensive reviews and assessment of systems and control procedures and ensure high audit standards are maintained with a proper balance between risk and reward;

- To support line manager in leading / conducting ad-hoc audit related projects and tasks;

- To contribute to audit support activities to ensure the audits in HBCN (and support RRB audits) are carried out with advanced audit tools (e.g. Computer Assisted Audit Techniques - CAATs) and up to the high audit standards;

- To provide an independent appraisal of the risk and the adequacy of risk management of the auditee through audit process; and escalate the significant issues relating to reputation, legal, credit, operational and compliance risks in the auditable entities when arise;

- To assist line manager in the delivery of their role and responsibilities;

- To ensure the quality of the audit service and ad hoc assignments and to improve the efficiency of audits;

- To maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring

Job Requirements:

- A high level of professional integrity and independence is expected.

- Bachelor's degree (recognized by the state) in Accounting, Finance or related areas.

- Internal Audit, Banking or Accounting Qualification are strongly preferred but not mandatory.

- At least 4-5 years' experience with audit or relevant background in financial institution / external audit firms.

- Have a sound knowledge of operational risks, technology risks, relevant financial laws, regulations and rules.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
