Purpose of the role
The Ocean freight manager will be responsible in managing the Ocean Freight team in BU and keep the good and fast development for TAO ocean biz and team.

The primary purposes of this role are:

i.Focus on daily operation management; monitor the Ocean KPI, incidence handling and etc.
ii.Rate control and learn market situation very quickly
iii.Co-visit with sales and travel to visit important customers, keep the good relationship with carrier and customer.
iv.Work closely with NCN and country ocean management team and to assist the tender team for bidding regarding Qingdao.
v.Logistics and warehouse management

Key Tasks
?Meet the BU KPI target for ocean team
?keep the ocean team healthy development
?close contact with carrier and customers
?resolve issues/claims on ocean freight
?DSO and DPO control
?warehouse and logistics handling and development
?training to all ocean staffs
?regular customer visits/carrier meetings
?Ocean GP and EBIT to achieve BU target
?support the tender and pricing team and sales team for bidding



Decision Making Authority
?discipline responsibility over operation organization within BU
?Decides and enforce operation corrective measures to ensure operation excellence

Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Process working

Required skills
?well Understand forwarding industry
?Holistic, analytical and structured working methodology
?Strong didactical skills, enthusiastic trainer, experienced in operational training (all levels)
?Preferably higher educational level (economics, logistics)

Profound knowledge of
?the ocean freight industry
?business process management (BPM), process re-engineering
?team management (QM) / continuous improvement programs

Skills & Competencies

?People management and leadership
Good ability to
?manage a team with around 25 staffs
?drive innovation, manage change and deal with ambiguity, devising effective change management processes
?think creatively and "outside of the box" when needed

Educational background / Work experience
?Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Economics/Logistics or freight forwarding apprenticeship
?5-10 years of work experience in Oceanfreight organization
?International working experience preferred

Language skills
?Fluent in English (written and spoken)
?Local country language

Computer Literacy
?Good knowledge of Microsoft® Office Software (Excel®, Word, PowerPoint® and others)
?Good knowledge of SAP®
?Profound in FOS, Seawarder, SCP, GBD, MyPanalpina, etc.
