1. Purpose of the job:
The heat treatment engineer runs in production department continuously programming and optimizing the production processes of heat treatment related under his responsibility. He also works on troubleshooting with the manufacturing engineer and relevant support.
2. Major accountabilities:
2.1. Executing the designing requirements:
? He checks the drawing requirement and make up the heat treatment process and programme.
? He provides technical support and instructions to the shop floor in relation to these processes.
? He integrates quality control actions in the organization of labor.
? He assists the deputy manager, head of department, in realizing the dept’s objectives and KPI targets (safety, quality, output, on time delivery and cost.)
2.2. Troubleshooting processes/helpdesk
? He analyzes Quality Deficiency Reports searching for methods to detect possible deficiencies in production processes and takes initiatives to remediate.
? He organizes an efficient Helpdesk function for the production cells under his responsibility so that questions coming from the shop floor can be addressed and/or answered within shortest time possible.
? He is the technical point of contact for cell brigadiers.
? He makes sure that solutions found are secured and embedded in process descriptions and work instructions.
? He watches over the level of technical proficiency of his cell brigadiers and operators and initiate corrective actions if needed.
2.3. Process control / Optimization
? He optimizes production processes using different techniques with the necessary support.
? He is making sure that process improvements are documented and implemented on the shop floor. And he also audits the correct execution of the production processes.
? He organizes the group member and share knowledge and experience internally based on the quality status at a certain interval.
? He can be asked to represent his production dept. in cross-plant best practice teams.
2.4. Maintenance/facility establishment
? He gives necessary input to Machine Maintenance dept. in order to define preventive maintenance programs which improve process solidity.
? He assists in building new machines and installations and in the commissioning process.
2.6. Safety and Environment
? He verifies that Safety and Environment management are integrated in the working instructions.
? Based on his technical authority he is giving the right example in behaving following the safety and environment management procedures and regulations.
3. Technical Competencies & Skills:
? Good English listening and oral skills, can communicate with foreign colleagues.
? Be provided with the proficiency knowledge of metallic material and heat treatment.
? Having worked on relevant Heat Treatment, who can be independently in charge of Detailed
? Industrial engineering techniques:5S, SMED, lean manufacturing, FMEA
? Has good knowledge of heat treatment workshop safety management.
? Be familiar with CAD and production planning system.
4. Expertise:
? Education level: Master / Bachelor degree in metallic material and heat treatment.
? Years of relevant experience: 1-5 years work experience of heat treatment technically on site
