Position: Regional Process Technology Specialist, APAC
Location: Shanghai, China
Number of vacancies: 1
Reporting: Regional Operations & Process Technology Manager,Asia Pacific
Educational background: Master Degree or above in technical field, prefer major in chemical engineering or fine chemical.
Years of experience: Minimum five years’ experience in Process Technology, Operations, or Applications including minimum one year plant experience.

Job Responsibility:
1. Process Ownership (Subject Matter Expert for assigned product lines)
o Lead Product Steering Teams
o Identify best practices, benchmark against them, and implement improvement strategies
o Prepare and maintain process specifications
o Find creative ways to reduce costs, justify and drive their implementation
o Apply and encourage use of 6-sigma principles to improve process capability
o Drive the disciplined use of problem solving tools to determine the root cause of problems and implement effective corrective and preventive solutions
o Conduct product sourcing, expansion/debottlenecking analyses
o Promote communication between plants and regions to share process knowledge
o Maintain knowledge of competitors and competitive technology
o Assess toll manufacturer capability

2. New Process Design & Scale-Up
o Drive the transition of new developmental products from R&D through plant trials and commercialization
o Use innovation to identify alternative approaches to manufacturing and evaluate economics of each
o Develop process flow sheets and engineering flow diagrams; specify equipment sizing, design, and specifications; and perform cost estimations and conduct economic analyses

3. Support Business, Platform Launch, EHS&S, Procurement, Technology and Operations
o Represent Operations on Business Teams, Platform Launch Teams, Technology Teams, Procurement Initiatives, Special Task Teams
o Support acquisitions
o Lead make vs. buy analysis and assess toll manufacturer capabilities
o Collaborate with plants (and tollers) to provide process engineering support for project development and project start-up

o Demonstrated leadership skills including planning and fostering teamwork.
o Ability to understand technical and financial data and make sound decisions.
