DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for managing and directing specific accounts and programs
throughout Multek.
* Ensure successful execution of customer programs by cross-functional
teams including Sales, Field Application Engineers (FAE), Cost
Engineers, Front End Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Process
Engineers, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Quality Assurance and more.
* A natural leader with excellent communication and good
customer-facing skills, the Account Manager will be based in our
factory, constantly and proactively checking on teams required to
contribute towards an on-schedule, within-budget and to-specifications
delivery.
* Account Managers will direct a number of accounts and programs at any
given time, and also may be assigned to more than one account. Regular
liaising with customers is expected.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Reports to the Segment Leader and personally manages one or more
accounts in that Segment.
* Develops and ensures adherence to project and program budgets by
reviewing quoted yields versus actual yields and driving corrective
actions when required to support yield improvement initiatives.
* Organizes project-related activities and communications among
departments, customers and vendors to ensure world-class metrics of
On-Time Delivery (OTD) and Quality are achieved.
* Responsible for follow-up of all outstanding quotes to determine what
is won, lost or pending. Ensures that all pending quotes are
followed to fruition.
* Participates with other senior managers in establishing strategic
organizational plans and objectives.
* Directs the activities of Customer Service personnel. Interacts
regularly with executives, customers and operations in the factories.
* Drives strategies to deliver customer requirements and recommend
Multek capabilities in manufacturing and engineering services.
* Responsible to follow up with Finance to ensure that any jobs on hold
or open A/R issues are addressed and closed in a timely manner.
* High level contact for negotiations with customer on all contracts,
pricing and other business items. May be primary contact for new or
critical customer programs.
* Responsible for management of customer satisfaction and ensuring that
the Multek Customer Experience is World Class (agendas, conference
rooms, transportation, accommodations, etc.)
* Reviews high-level reports and presentations for management,
customers and others.
* Participates in Profit and Loss (P&L) analysis, responsible for
tracking relevant metrics and drive action items based on results.
* The Account Manager works with a cross-functional team and is
accountable to deliver: High performance scores on On-Time Delivery,
Quality, and Lead-time; Program profitability, in line with Multek’s
strategy for each specific account; Pipeline and revenue annual targets
by account; Outstanding customer service
* Oversee the scheduling, coordination and implementation of assigned
programs, and act as the Account’s primary point of contact between the
Multek and the customer.
* Develop or follow consistent processes and policies to clarify each
cross-functional team member’s role in successfully completing a
Program, and revisit this for each new Account/Program as needed.
* Translate each awarded Program’s parameters (product specifications,
manufacturing instructions, schedule, cost, etc.) into clear plans,
milestones, timelines, dependencies, contingencies, success criteria,
roles and responsibilities. Then manage and coach that Program’s
cross-functional members to efficiently execute their duties in strict
adherence to the plan.
* In addition to the above Program Plans, develop and execute specific
Account Plans and ensure alignment between Program/Opportunity plans,
Account plans, and Segment plans. Oversee all production activities and
escalations needed to successfully deliver customer orders throughout a
program’s lifecycle. This may include: Planning, Samples,
Quick-Turn, New Product Introduction, Mass Production, Shipping,
RMA/Issues Resolution, Qualification Audits, etc.
* Ensure customer delight and retention in order to generate growth for
the business Communicate strategy as required between cross functional
teams to ensure programs have a smooth and timely transition/hand-off
through all phases of documented development processes.
* Serve as a post-award point-person on preparatory and executional
issues so that Business Development Managers (BDMs) and FAEs do not get
bogged down by them and can spend more time with customers pursuing new
program awards, orders, and upside allocations for Multek.
* Ensure success of existing customer orders by getting various
internal teams to understand the entire production cycle of a program
and having them proactively and independently communicate with each
other.
* Build a collaborative, fast, creative, accountable and winning team
culture. Monitor key metrics per account and/or program so that
customer satisfaction is closely managed.
* Provide business proposal support and inputs for existing or new
business, and participate/support major contract negotiations.
* Monitor and support the account team to ensure an effective use of
and participation in the company’s Management Reporting requirements
(i.e. Customer 360 Dashboard, Customer P&L’s, etc.) and Quarterly
Business Review cycle.
* Collaborate with BDMs and FAEs to steer business development
activities to win replacement and growth business, ensuring all aspects
of account support are proactively managed, such as: Factory visits by
assigned account; Forecasting each assigned account’s volumes and
factory loading by program; Kickoff awarded programs’ execution with
cross-functional team; Lead remaining factory activities for Programs,
like scheduling, receiving materials, mass production (including
outsourcing between plants), assembly, QA, packaging and shipment;
Conduct post-mortems after Programs have been delivered and share
lessons learned.
