Summary:
The Project Manager - Asia, under minimal supervision is responsible for the overall direction, implementation, execution, monitoring/controlling and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy and goals. He/she manages and controls scope, costs and schedules to deliver projects built to appropriate quality standards ensuring profitability. He/she also assists with building the business relationships required to secure new contracts and supports the Supply Chain organization with identifying low cost services and suppliers.

Skills and Experiences:
Candidate should possess the following:

? 5 -10 years recent experience in Project Management within the chemical or petrochemical industry managing projects from $0.5M to $5M. Formal Project Management Certification preferred.
? Bachelors of Science Degree in a technical discipline with a preference for mechanical or chemical engineering.
? Experience with people, risk, and change management.
? Construction and contracts experience in all aspects of industrial design and construction.
? Ability and willingness to travel (domestic and international) for durations up to 2-3 weeks at a time.
? Ability to work well without supervision and with others.
? Proficient in English and Chinese language skills.
? Experienced in an international business environment and working with multinational companies.
? “Can do” attitude.
? Ability to understand and coordinate the interrelationships between project stakeholders.
? Proficient in the use of Project Management software including MS Project.
? Ability to read and understand engineering drawings including P&ID’s, structural steel, concrete, plumbing, HVAC and architectural drawings, single line diagrams, motor schematics, etc.
? Experience in obtaining building, occupancy, environmental and other permits/clearances for construction projects.
? Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Takes ownership by leading the planning and implementation of projects meeting timing, cost and performance targets.
2. Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
3. Defines project tasks and resource requirements
4. Develops full scale project plans
5. Assembles and coordinates the project team
6. Manages the project budget
7. Plans and schedules project timelines/milestones and manages the schedule.
8. Tracks project deliverables
9. Manages project quality
10. Constantly monitors and reports on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
11. Defines and controls project risks identifying possible problems and solutions.
12. Manages project changes and intervenes to achieve project outputs.
13. Assesses project outcomes and incorporates learning into future projects.
14. Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
15. Works with Project Team, including the Client, to resolve design conflicts and to expedite equipment information/delivery.
16. Supervises the Field Construction Manager.
17. Ensures that projects are completed safely and in accordance with all company. client and governmental safety, environmental, and health standards and regulations.
18. Reviews bid packages for accuracy and completeness.
19. Understands Lean Manufacturing Concepts and how they are applied to engineering/construction/design of the plant.
20. Assists the Business Development Manager as necessary to secure new contracts.
21. Works with Supply Chain to identify low cost services and suppliers.
