JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1.Policies & Procedures: Read, understand and ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are being adhered to. Follow all Cintas policies in the management of vendors/contractors and working with other Cintas departments.
a)Accountability: Responsible for working with all partners in the Global Supply Chain and adhering to all policies and procedures.
b)Will be expected to assist in developing/writing procedures, manuals, and instruction guides as required to ensure greater customer satisfaction.
c)Provide regular updates on the status of support, projects, or other issues through a Monthly Status Report to your direct manager and through a field trip report to the appropriate GSC partners.
d)Shared Goals of the Corporation. Field Engineer will work with other departments in the effort to achieve the shared goals set forth by the Corporation.
e)Develop product knowledge, product spec understanding, and garment construction for the products manufactured at the vendors managed.
f)Constant contractor/vendor evaluation (for managed vendors) to ensure that they’re meeting the expectations we have for all Cintas vendors. This includes standards on Social Compliance, Plant Checklist items, regular communication and management of their operation.
2.Product Quality: Provide support for product quality through CQATs analysis and in-line inspections. This may require adjustments to current processes and working with vendor/plant teams to ensure quality specifications are met.
3.Vendor Start-up: Provide support for vendor start-ups as requested by Strategic Sourcing team. This can include coordinating with planning on volume needs and ensuring product specifications and quality are achieved before full production begins.
4.Product Development: Assist Merchandising in product development needs at vendors/plants. This may also include recommendations on where to make product based on knowledge of Field Engineer. When vendor or plant is determined, ensure that proper procedures are followed in preparing samples and pre-production requirements.
5.Social Compliance: Perform social compliance audits as requested from Social Compliance team. This may include following up on audit items for completion and/or visiting a supplier for social compliance non-conformance.
6.C-TPAT: Ensure proper security measures are implemented and working for vendors/plants who are C-TPAT certified.
7.Safety Improvements: Provide input for safety improvements at vendors/plants based on OSHA training provided.
8.6 Sigma Training: When applicable and with proper training, provide 6 sigma training as requested.
9.Process Improvement: Provide process improvement recommendations to vendors/plants to improve cost, quality, and delivery. Improvements may include “5s” organization, in-line controls, and efficiency studies.
10.Engineering: Provide GSD analysis for required operations. Increase productivity and reduce labor costs through improvements in work methods, process controls, and throughput time using various techniques including establishing production standards (SAMs). In addition, provide support for “should be” costing analysis at vendors/plants, ensure BOM accuracy, and evaluate preventative maintenance programs.
11.Systems Knowledge: Display the ability to learn, understand, and utilize all systems associated with position including CQATS and GSD.
12.All Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned including carrying out responsibilities, performing duties, using skills, and working in conditions necessary to perform all assigned tasks.
