DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Description:

Purpose:

To provide Product Industrialization design, manufacturing and process
development support for customer product development teams, internal
technology groups and factory operations that will assure Flextronics
is providing innovative and cost effective solutions that exceed the
expectations of our customers.



Responsibilities:

* Lead the evaluation of a product design for manufacturability and
planning/setting up of the production infrastructure, processes and
equipment to enable the successful launch into mass production with
acceptable yields.

* Help develop and actively manage the transition of mechanical
programs from development to production launch.

* Manage hands-on engineering support for New Product Introduction
(NPI).

* Manage early customer engagement to provide DFx content &
coordinate professional DFx delivery on integrated electro-mechanical
products and help secure new mechanical business that aligns with
customer account and operations strategy.

* Assure opportunities are technically reviewed and data packages are
complete as they flow into our engineering and quote teams.

* Trouble-shoot and solve technically complex mechanical design and
manufacturing problems.

* Technical support of business development activities with customer
account teams. Travel required when needed.



Job Requirements:

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivilent and 8+ years of
relevant product development, manufacturing engineering experience
Strong independent planning & customer interface skills Advanced
training and experience with various technologies (Plastics, Metals,
Tooling, CNC Machining, Mechanical Assembly, DFA, DOE, etc.) is
preferred Strong working knowledge of the product development cycle,
mechanical assemblies and and factory support. Strong working knowledge
of manufacturing at high volumes with direct factory support experience
is a plus Communications skills must include: Verbal skills to
communicate interpreted needs for design change, testing results, mold
performance, molding results to design enigneers with various
engineering backgrounds both internally and externally Written skills
for various types of reporting including but not limited to: Data
Collection/Process Control, Process Capability Studies, Quality
Reporting per FSD, cGMP and/or ISO standards,

Forecasting, Volume Projections, Actual vs. Predicted Production
Performance and Quoting
