Archibat Asia is looking for a Senior Project Designer for a successful Office Design company based in Shanghai. They have designed lots of professional office for many large international companies all around China and Asia.
The Role:
Under the direction of Design Director, the Senior Project Designer is to direct planning, organizing and monitoring of project activities to ensure that services are consistent with the client program and standards. He/She will be responsible for efficiently leading the design process, presenting projects and guiding the support team to ensure the project outcome meets the design excellence. Acting as the focal point for all communications to ensure that the services are delivered within the established scope, budget and schedule. He/She is expected to perform at an advanced level as a result of extensive training and/or experience.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with Design Director in developing design concepts.
2. Generates design ideas and solutions and communicates effectively to project team and client.
3. Designs in accordance with project schedules, budgets, applicable codes and ordinances.
4. Directs the production of schematic and design development documents.
5. Performs design review of design documents on several concurrent projects.
6. Oversees the review of design documents for compliance with program and design concepts.
7. Directs and coordinates design consultants in all phases.
8. Generates and supervises design presentations.
9. Participates in client presentations and interviews.
10. Promotes firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability.
Key Skills and Experience:
1. Bachelor degree or above in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture.
2. Over 6 years’ experience, primarily in large scale workplace and commercial public space, preferably for an international design practice.
3. High level of innovative thinking and problem solving.
4. Strong sketching, graphic and computer skills.
5. Strong leadership skills.
6. Ability to set clear standards and expectations and ensure their delivery.
7. Ability to exercise effective judgment within constrained time-scales and resources in the light of competing pressures.
8. Collaborative and professional work ethic.
9. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
