Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced leader for our Security Compliance Regulatory Engagement Team in China.
AWS Security China Team is looking for a passionate, innovative, results-oriented leader to reinvent how AWS proactively engages global regulators and customer assessment. A key tenet of the team is to enable customers to move and operate regulated workloads in the AWS cloud. The leader will design an innovative approach in providing transparency into AWS security controls to regulators and assessors and at the same time, protect the security and privacy of AWS customers and prevent the disclosure of AWS intellectual property. This leader will build a team to scale this program and proactively engage customer and regulator teams. This position will require innovation in automation of traditionally manual and time-intensive processes to solve complex security and compliance problems on a broad scale.
In this role, you will engage and interact directly with regulators, our customers and assessors. You will represent the AWS control environment to global regulators, customers and assessors, in a manner that provides transparency into AWS industry setting security controls, while also preventing the inappropriate disclosure of AWS proprietary technology. You will work with policy personnel in technical security and compliance discussions with policy makers, regulators and industry bodies responsible for oversight of our regulated customers. You will create innovative education material work with world class security, compliance, solution architects and engineering teams to define and build an innovative approach to providing transparency of AWS security controls to our customers. The position is based in Beijing, China.
The successful candidate will be exceptional at personally engaging with diverse audiences with varying technical backgrounds to explain complex technical ideas in a way that can be fully understood and embraced. Ownership and innovation are key qualifications, as this leader will be expected to design and develop new ways to meet the needs of our customers and their regulators in a scalable way. You are able to handle business escalations with a data-driven approach. You will be responsible for implementing a product vision for cloud engagement with regulators, customers and assessors while satisfying scalability, transparency, and budget goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, mathematics, Accounting/Auditing, or other related fields
· Minimum 7 years of experience in a security or compliance role in support of a highly technical environment
· Have a proven track record of positive engagement with auditors, regulators, and/or other types of security and compliance stakeholders




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Have a clear understanding of cloud computing services/deployment architecture.
· Demonstrate innovative compliance approaches in non-traditional IT environments
· Have experience defining compliance roadmaps based on regulator, assessor or customer requirements and compliance documentation
· Have experience in performing technical assessments and audits of network, operating systems, application security, as well as auditing IT processes; experience in working directly with senior government officials and/or auditors
· Have working experience of one or more of the following: SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001 or other compliance related certifications
· Have a solid work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations; hands-on experience working successfully in a very fast-paced, results-oriented environment
· Have experience with designing metrics, measurements, and automated triggers for measuring operational efficiency
· Have excellent English written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
