Job Function

1. Work under the direction of a Research Manager or Senior Chemist conducting experimental work in the lab environment to develop new product concepts and test ideas for coil coatings.

2. Select and develop materials and equipment for the coating process to meet quality, reliability, yield and manufacturability requirements.

3. Plan and conduct experiments to fully characterize the process and product throughout the development cycle.

4. Develop prototype formulations, and test experimental product formulations, in accordance with established specifications.

5. Evaluate performance properties of alternative and locally sourced raw materials.

6. Define and document processes, procedures, and equipment configurations.

7. Report progress to the Senior Chemists and/or Research Manager and look for information to improve upon on-going projects. Independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.

8. Acquire and maintain technical expertise in coatings industry and its technologies and give technical updates.

General Requirements

1. B.S. (minimum) in Chemistry. Advanced university degree preferred

2. Polymer, Colloid and Surface, Material, and other Chemistry background required with 0-5 years experience. Knowledge and expertise in metal coatings or coil coatings is desirable but not required.

3. Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success

4. Good team-working and ability to build working relationships

5. Good verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English (CET-6) are important

6. Commit to continuous learning.

7. Fully comply with all safety, health and environmental guidelines, according to site and company standards.
