Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager is a key member of the PSG Supply Chain Team for a large multi-national industrial leader in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. The role is responsible for: process excellence, analytic and decision support, outsourcing/in sourcing, strategic/global/BVC (Best Value Country) sourcing, category management, supply base development and management, new product development, merge and acquisition due diligence and integration, continuous improvement and lean, and talent identifying and development. This individual is responsible for ensuring the supply continuity (quality and delivery) of purchased parts, components, assemblies and services and ability to deliver cost savings and avoid cost increases at the TCO (total cost of ownership) level. The role requires the individual to be able to support the business sites to optimize inventory, improve working capital and drive for lean and continuous improvement. This person can effectively interact at all levels of the organization and align up objectives cross functionally to achieve supply chain management goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Provide strong leadership and clear direction for a team of 5-10 professionals in strategic and tactical supply chain activities to support the PSG global business growth.
? Create and implement strategies required to drive the global strategic sourcing of direct and indirect material and supplies, while ensuring optimum quality at the lowest price to be delivered on time.
? Manage major spend categories – castings, machinings, moldings etc. and enhance leverage of Dover / PSG footprints; develop regional supply strategies and manage China supply base
? Develop systems, processes and tools, and provide trainings if necessary
? Perform spend data and analytics; manage supply risk with mitigation plans; effectively tracking and reporting supply chain initiatives results
? Manage the development of multiple suppliers, as well as the criteria for contract negotiations and administration.
? Develop ideas and lead projects to improve working capital (planning, inventory, payment terms, service) and other supply chain initiatives across global business units
? Provide cost savings recommendations and ensure spend is within budget; lead or assist with supply chain projects and initiatives as required
? Comply with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics
? Ensure that all assignments are performed in compliance with all applicable State, Provincial and Company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized
Qualifications/Requirements:
? Fluent bilingually, verbal and written: English and Chinese
? Bachelor’s Degree is required (Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field). Graduate degree is preferred
? 8+ years of supply management experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in pump industry
? Professional certification CPSM, CPM, CPIM, CIRM, PMP preferred
? Strong computer skills Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
? Experience with lean manufacturing techniques, project management, supplier management
? Excellent people skills and adaptable to change, and strong presentation skills to present to upper management
? Lead large cross-functional teams through an end-to-end project lifecycle to implement new processes and systems
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills
