Ibbotson Associates, a Morningstar company, is looking for a highly motivated individual to be an Investment Analyst within its Retirement Services division. The candidate will be responsible for working with and supporting the U.S. Retirement Services Portfolio Construction team. This position will require the ability to effectively support both internal and external client needs. This position is based in Shenzhen, China.

The Investment Analyst will be responsible for mastering the processes involved in analyzing investment data to determine solutions for, including but not limited to, the fund-specific implementation of Ibbotson's asset allocation models using mutual funds and other investments,determining asset allocation model portfolios, performing manager/fund selection (including the ability to consider criteria such as style consistency, risk/return statistics, correlation to benchmarks, etc.), performing due diligence (both quantitative and qualitative), and recommending solutions and/or changes to client products, services and deliverables. The candidate will also participate in research projects related to portfolio construction and will recommend and assist in the testing of internal process enhancements. The primary focus of this role will be in the 401(k)/ERISA arena, but will on occasion be required to go beyond the retirement arena.

Requirements:

1.This candidate should have the interest level to learn about theoretical and practical implications of asset allocation.

2.The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in finance and investments and an aptitude for understanding asset allocation, portfolio construction on a fund specific level and a manager/fund review and selection level.

3.This position requires the Investment Analyst to successfully participate in handling internal relationships as well as the ability to contribute to rigorous investment analysis.

4.Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Excel and familiarity with mutual funds and mutual fund data is necessary.

5.Familiarity with Returns-Based and Holdings-Based Style Analysis is also recommended.

6.Candidate must have good attention to detail and be able to function in both a team environment as well as be able to work independently.

7. An undergraduate degree in finance or economics (or related field) is required.

8.At least one year of related work experience which may include an internship in the financial services industry (investment specific preferred).

9.The candidate should be comfortable working in a quantitative environment and have a desire to learn the Ibbotson investment methodology.
